FIFA World Cup Group C Wagering - France vs. Denmark Odds

France has already locked up its spot in the knockout rounds. Now, the goal is to finish first in Group C. Les Bleus have been able to pick up wins in their first two matches, but it wasn’t easy. Peru and Australia both tested the favorites to win the group, yet France persevered and grabbed the three points each time. They will be playing Denmark in their last match and will top the group as long as they get a result. Meanwhile, the Danes qualify for the Round of 16 with a result and will do everything in their power to grab at least a draw.

The most anticipated sporting event in the world comes around once every four years, so don’t miss any of the 2018 World Cup. This match will take place at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow at 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Catch every moment of the match live on FOX.

Recent Form

Denmark is three points up on Australia coming into their final match. The Danes were able to pick up a win against Peru in their opener, getting a goal against the run of play to pick up a 1-0 win. However, they only had a handful of chances in the match and needed Kasper Schmeichel to come up big in order to preserve the shutout.

On Thursday, Denmark took on Australia, and they got on the board early. Talisman Christian Eriksen was able to score in the seventh minute to put the Danes ahead, and that left them in a commanding spot. However, Yussuf Poulsen committed a foul in the box for the second straight match, and this time Denmark were punished for it. Mile Jedinak converted the penalty kick and leveled Australia. Each side had a couple chances, but they were left wanting in a 1-1 draw.

France has not been at its best thus far. In their first match, they weren’t able to break down Australia’s defense in the way they wanted. They were able to get a foul in the box and an own goal though, matriculating a 2-1 win despite not playing well

Les Bleus were better on the attack against Peru, but they only managed a lone goal. Kylian Mbappe looked much better in his first World Cup and his goal was the only score in a 1-0 win.

Player to Watch

Schmeichel is going to need to come up big for Denmark once more. The Danes have put their hopes on his back to this point, and he has mostly been on point. He was fantastic in a clean sheet against Peru, turning the Incas away a few times. Schmeichel let in a goal against Australia, but that was off of a penalty and he can’t be faulted for that.

The Leicester City goalkeeper has had something of a charmed life these last few years. He was one of the stars on the most improbable Premier League winner ever, and now he is looking to lead Denmark on a deep run. With Argentina’s World Cup hopes on life support, Denmark would likely be favored against either Iceland or Nigeria if they were to meet.

Key to the Game

The play of Pogba has been pivotal to France’s offense to this point. That’s not too much of a surprise. Pogba is one of the most talented playmakers in the world, so it makes sense for France to run their offense through him. He has rewarded them by setting up his Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann with good looks and it feels like it’s only a matter of time before the floodgates open. He has also nearly converted some chances of his own. Pogba has been France’s best player by a good margin thus far.

A draw will give both teams what they want. Denmark will advance to the next round with a result, while France will win the group. There won’t be any chicanery, but neither team would be too concerned to break a deadlock either.
