Odds Analysis

Real Madrid have overcome a sluggish start to the season to sit tied atop the La Liga table with Barcelona. Zinedine Zidane has helped return stability to the club since returning as manager, and the back line is one of the best in Europe once more. They have allowed just nine goals in 12 La Liga matches, but they haven’t had the same fortune in the Champions League.

The Spanish giants hammered Galatasaray 6-0 in the Bernabeu two weeks ago, and they gutted out a 1-0 win in Istanbul in the other meeting between these two teams. However, in their prior matches against PSG and Club Brugge, the back line has fallen apart. Real Madrid lost 3-0 to PSG in Paris in mid-September, and they needed to overcome a 2-0 deficit at home to draw Club Brugge last month.

Paris Saint-Germain are dominating Ligue 1 once again, but what else is new? PSG are already eight points clear in first place, and their goal differential is 15 goals better than any other team in France. They have an incredible collection of talent, and this team has been incredible in the Champions League through four games.

The Ligue 1 juggernauts are the only team in the competition that has yet to allow a goal. PSG hammered Real Madrid 3-0 in their previous meeting with Angel Di Maria netting a first half brace while Neymar and Kylian Mbappe were both out, and Mauro Icardi was the man of the hour in the next two games. He scored PSG’s lone goal on the road against Galatasaray and netted a brace against Club Brugge while Mbappe secured a hat trick. Icardi came through once again in the return leg against Brugge, netting the only goal in a 1-0 win.

Key Injuries

The hosts are going to be missing four players on Tuesday. Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez are expected to be out until next year with major injuries, while Nacho and James Rodriguez will be sidelined for another month with MCL worries.

As for PSG, center back Thilo Kehrer has yet to play this season after suffering a foot injury in the preseason, while Neymar and Thomas Meunier are both questionable to be available for selection.

Player to Watch

Real Madrid spent hundreds of millions in a bid to return to prominence this summer, but the club’s best player has been one of its longest tenured veterans. Karim Benzema has been fantastic this campaign with nine goals and three assists in domestic play. No other player on the club has more than two goals, as Benzema has shown why he was always a favorite of Zidane.

Free Soccer Betting Pick

PSG’s back line has been fantastic, but Real Madrid’s has been great in recent weeks too. The hosts have registered five straight clean sheets, so expect a low scoring game in Madrid on Tuesday.

Champions League Prediction: Real Madrid 1, Paris Saint-Germain 1
