Champions League Matchday 3 Wednesday - Soccer Props

Groups A, B, C, and D will be in Champions League action on Wednesday, and some of the best clubs in the world are looking to right the ship and avoid an early flameout. Tottenham Hotspur are in real trouble with two losses in their first two matches, and they are already six points back of Barcelona and Inter Milan. Liverpool are in a bit of a precarious position as well after losing on the road to Napoli in their last Champions League match, and they need to hammer Red Star Belgrade to be in good position heading into the second round robin. Below, I’ll highlight the other matches from Tottenham and Liverpool’s groups, as they will let the English teams know what they need to do to advance.

The Champions League Group Stage will last from September 18 to December 2. There will be eight groups with four teams in each group, and the top two teams in each group will advance to the Round of 16. Check out all the action this week at BookMaker.

Napoli +502

Paris Saint-Germain -217

Draw +382

Over/Under 3 and 3.5

This has the potential to be the most exciting match of the day. Everyone knows just how talented PSG are on the offensive end. They shook off a frustrating loss at Anfield in their first Champions League match by completing dominating Red Star Belgrade in their last match. Neymar tallied a hat trick, while Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria, and Kylian Mbappe also notched goals in a 6-1 rout of the Serbian squad. PSG took an incredible 34 shots and put 17 shots on goal, showcasing their offensive talent.

Napoli know they face an uphill battle in this one, but they have shown they can compete in this group. After a frustrating draw to Red Star Belgrade in their first match, they picked up a huge win over Liverpool to keep their hopes of advancing alive. They surprised many by outpacing Liverpool in their match, and Lorenzo Insigne’s 90th minute goal was the lone score in the victory.

If that match is any indication, Napoli won’t be afraid to open things up against PSG. While most teams park the bus and hope for the best against an attack this potent, Napoli have been a swashbuckling team and they should know their best chance is to go on the offensive. It wouldn’t be shocking to see five or six goals in this match.

Inter Milan +755

Barcelona -333

Draw +474

Over/Under 3.5

Many figured that Barcelona and Tottenham would be the two teams coming out of Group B, and in that order, but Inter Milan have thrown a monkey wrench into the mix. Inter’s comeback win over Tottenham have the club in the driver’s seat, and any kind of points against Barcelona would likely spell the end for Tottenham’s hopes at making the knockout rounds.

Although Barcelona have looked unstoppable through their first two Champions League tilts, the Blaugrana may have one eye on La Liga at this point. They have uncharacteristically struggled in domestic play, failing to win a game in their last four tries. That has them in second place, and their focus may be a bit off coming into this one.

For Inter Milan to escape Camp Nou with a result, they need some great play in the back and at least some offense up front to take the pressure off. In particular, Radja Nainggolan has to get it going after a slow start to the campaign.

I’m really tempted to take the draw option in this one. A tie wouldn’t be the end of the word for Barcelona, and their defensive issues have them a little vulnerable. That would spell the end for Tottenham in all likelihood though.
