Serie A Matchday 32 Odds Report

On Friday, Juventus can officially secure their eighth straight Scudetto. The Old Lady are 20 points ahead of second-place Napoli, and a win in any of their last seven games (or a Napoli loss) will give them another Serie A title.

With the champion already established, the real attention is now on the final Champions League spots. Inter Milan have put some distance between themselves and the rest of the pack, but the race for the fourth spot is shaping up to be incredible. AC Milan and Atalanta are level at 52 points with Roma a point behind them, and both Lazio and Torino sitting on 49 points and Lazio has played one less match than any other team.

Juventus are not as big of a favorite as you might think. They are 27-3-1 on the season, but with another domestic title in hand and a Champions League tilt with Ajax on Wednesday and Tuesday of next week, they are widely expected to sit a lot of their regular starters against SPAL. That will give the relegation-threatened club a chance to pick up a crucial result. Andrea Petagna and Manuel Lazzari have formed quite a pair for SPAL this season.

This is a must-win for Roma. They have lost three of their last six matches, but they are still in contention for a top-four finish. Anything else would be a major disappointment after sacking Eusebio Di Francesco and replacing him with Claudio Ranieri last month. Udinese are just 1-5-8 on the road this season in league play.

A win for either Lazio or Milan would be absolutely massive. Milan currently hold the advantage for the fourth spot, but Lazio’s game in hand can neutralize that. Lazio escaped with a 1-1 draw the last time these teams met, with Joaquin Correa netting in the fourth minute of extra time.

The Genoa Derby looked as if it might have big stakes, but Sampdoria have lost their last two matches, and they will find it tough to qualify for European play now. Meanwhile, Genoa have lost their form since dealing Krzysztof Piatek to AC Milan and are just six points ahead of the drop.

Frosinone are making things interesting down the stretch. They had largely been written off with 17 points in 29 matches, but victories over Parma and Fiorentina over the past two weeks have given them life. A result against Inter Milan would be enormous.

Torino and Cagliari are both in great form. Torino have picked up a result in five of their last six matches and boast one of the top defenses in Serie A, while Cagliari have four wins in their last six to have left the relegation zone in their rear view mirror. Winning on the road has always been tough for the Sardinians though.

April 15

Atalanta Bergamasca -262
FC Empoli +626
Draw +401
Over/Under 3

The most fun club in Italy continues to be Atalanta. They are now dead level with AC Milan for fourth place, and they are out to score in bunches after being held to a scoreless draw with Inter last week.
