Serie A Matchday 29 Odds Report

The international break is over, so it’s time to turn our attention back to domestic leagues. While some leagues around the world are in the middle of incredible fights to see who will win the league (the Premier League and the Bundesliga for example), Serie A has been over for some time. Juventus have a 15-point lead on second-place Napoli with 10 matches left in the season, and only the most epic collapse would lead to Juventus missing out on their eighth straight Serie A title.

There is intrigue elsewhere though. While we believe that Napoli and the two Milan clubs will round out the Champions League spots for Italy, the Europa League spots are very much up for grabs, and the battle to avoid relegation is fierce as well. That will make for a very interesting weekend.

March 29

Chievo Verona +168
Cagliari +185
Draw +206
Over/Under 2

Chievo are certain to be relegated this season. They have just 11 points and they would need to get at least seven wins in their last 10 matches to have a chance at staying afloat, and that just won’t happen. However, they can play spoiler. There hasn’t been much to cheer about this season, but Cagliari have not performed well away from Sardinia with a 1-3-10 road record.

March 30

Udinese +152
Genoa FC +210
Draw +202
Over/Under 2

Sampdoria +216
AC Milan +134
Draw +226
Over/Under 2 and 2.5

Juventus -348
FC Empoli +1090
Draw +399
Over/Under 2.5 and 3

The game of the week might be the clash between Sampdoria and AC Milan. Sampdoria are in the middle of the table, but they have proven they can score. They are fifth in the league in goals scored, and Sampdoria are 7-2-4 at home this season.

Juventus saw their bid for an undefeated season come to an end on the road against Genoa before the international break, and now they will be without Cristiano Ronaldo for at least the next week. He was injured while playing for Portugal on international duty, but Juventus believe he will be ready for Ajax on April 10.

In the ESPN Match of the Week, Atalanta are traveling to face Parma. Atalanta have the second-most goals in Serie A this season, and there are an average of 3.5 goals in every Atalanta game. Duvan Zapata has 17 goals on the year, and this one should be higher scoring than most Italian games.

Inter Milan will finally have leading goal scorer Mauro Icardi back in action this week. Icardi has been sidelined for the last six weeks, and his goal scoring should give the club a boost while Lautaro Martinez is unlikely to play. Lazio have looked sharp lately though, and this should be a rather even match.

The most anticipated match of the week is between Roma and Napoli. The Neapolitans have one of the most diverse attacks in the league with goals coming from a variety of sources. Dries Mertens, Arkadiusz Milik, and Lorenzo Insigne will all end the year with at least 10 goals, but they have been far more conservative on the road than they have been at home. Roma have earned a result in 12 of their 13 home matches this year.
