Paul Craig (10-2, 2-2 UFC)

Craig came into the UFC with a record of 8-0 and he has two wins and two losses in the UFC. He defeated Henrique da Silva by submission and Magomed Ankalaev by submission; while losing to Tyson Pedro by TKO and Khalil Rountree by KO. Craig has been a pro since 2013 and has one win by TKO and nine by submission. He has seven first round finishes.

Craig said this to dailyrecord.co.uk. about his upcoming fight against Crute, “But I have seen him fight and I know he will be dangerous. He is a powerful striker with a good over hand right, plus he has a decent grappling background. He is also undefeated so he will probably be full of confidence.”

Jim Crute (8-0, UFC debut)

Crute is making his UFC debut this Saturday night against Craig. He is undefeated in his career and his last fight was against Chris Birchler by TKO in July of 2018. Crute has been a pro since 2016 and has three wins by TKO/KO and two by submission. He has five first round finishes.

UFC Predictions

Craig faced Magomed Ankalaev in March of this year and was battered around for the most part until he got a triangle choke on Ankalaev late in the final round. Craig can be dominated physically, but he has some submission skills that make him dangerous. Crute is making his UFC debut and so far he is undefeated in his career. There is not much about Crute that stands out, but he was competent in Australia. Craig runs into trouble when he is physically overmatched, but I don’t think that will be the case in this fight. I lean toward taking the underdog price on Craig, but keep in mind that when oddsmakers heavily favor a newcomer in UFC odds, that fighter usually wins.
