Sijara Eubanks (3-2, 1-0 UFC)
Eubanks came into the UFC with a record of 2-2 and she defeated Lauren Murphy by unanimous decision in her only UFC fight. Her last loss in her career was against Aspen Ladd by unanimous decision in January of 2017. Eubanks has been a pro since 2015 and has two wins by TKO. She has two first round finishes.
Roxanne Modafferi (22-14, 1-2 UFC)
Modafferi came into the UFC with a record of 15-10 and she has one win and two losses in the UFC. She defeated Barb Honchak by TKO; while losing to Raquel Pennington by unanimous decision and Nicco Montaño by unanimous decision. Modafferi has been a pro since 2003 and has four wins by TKO/KO and five by submission. Her five submission wins were three by armbar, one triangle, and one RNC. She has two first round finishes.
Modafferi said this to ufc.com about her upcoming fight against Eubanks, “I think any advantages I may have from fighting her before, she also has because we both have that experience from what worked and what didn’t work. I think she may be more over-confident since she beat me before and she probably thinks she can do it again but it shall be different this time!”

UFC Predictions
Eubanks is a solid grappler who did well in the “The Ultimate Fighter” making it all the way to the final. Eubanks is now taking on a solid fighter in Modafferi who nearly retired a few years ago. Eubank did beat Modafferi in their previous fight and it is questionable if anything has changed since that time. Modafferi has one way to win and that is on the ground and it is hard to see her winning against Eubanks in a ground fight. Eubanks weakness would seem to be against good striking and that simply doesn’t fit the profile of Modafferi. I am not laying 5-1 on Eubanks, but I see no value in taking the dog. I will instead play the fight to go the distance.
