Often referred to as the fifth Major, THE PLAYERS Championship attracts the world’s best golfers thanks in part to its enormous prize pool and a cool $2.25 million to the winner, which is plenty of incentive. The track at TPC Sawgrass might be a little different with the event moved to this week instead of the May tee off time we’ve seen since 2007. How much that affects the field remains to be seen. But with a host of notable performers, someone will tame the track and take home the bounty.... 

Can you be a fifth Major when there is only four? If you can, this would be it. The PGA Tour stays in Florida this week for THE PLAYERS Championship with a field of the greatest golfers in the world ready to peg it up at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach. Big-time tournaments bring out the big names, and so does the big time money. The purse for this event is in the $12.5 million range with the winner getting a cool 2.25 mill. That should incentivize anyone to come play this week.... 

The four-tournament tour of the Sunshine State is on to the second stop with the PGA Tour invading Orlando for the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week. One notable name will be absent as eight-time winner of the Arnie, Tiger Woods, withdrew because of a sore neck. Don’t fret golf fans, this event typically draws a strong field and that’s the case this time around with 12 of the top 20 golfers in the world rankings pegging it up at Bay Hill Golf Club and Lodge. Staying in the Sunshine State this week, the PGA Tour moves to Orlando for the Arnold Palmer Invitational, contested at the Bay Hill Golf Club and Lodge. The field will be minus one big name as eight-time winner Tiger Woods withdrew, opening up the odds board for defending champion Rory McIlroy, who came off as the betting favorite at BookMaker.eu with odds of +685. It’s not a Major but still a prestigious Tour stop attracting some of the most talented golfers in the world.... 

The PGA Tour says hello to the Sunshine State with the first of four straight tournaments in Florida, kicking off this week with the Honda Classic in Palm Beach. A change to the tournament schedule has impacted this event and a number of big names won’t be participating. Don’t worry, though, there is still plenty of firepower ready to peg it up on the 7,110-yard, par-70 PGA National Champion Course. Now that the West Coast swing with a stop in Mexico is complete, the PGA Tour is off to the Sunshine state for its next stop. The guys will play the next six tournaments in Florida and Texas ahead of the Masters in April with the first destination being Palm Beach for the Honda Classic. The field is a bit diluted from previous events with many of the pros picking and choosing their stops ahead of the first Major.... 

With the more high-profile players taking part in this week’s WGC in Mexico or not competing at all, the field is wide open for golfers lower down the food chain to pick up some FedEx Cup points and a PGA Tour belt at the Puerto Rico Open. After getting hurricaned out last year, the field returns to the Coco Beach Golf and Country Club with Daniel Berger the betting favorite at +1250 at BookMaker.eu. It’s a tight group of competitors at the top of the odds list making the matchups for this week ... 

Who would have thought the PGA Tour would have to leave California to find better weather. That’s the case with the West Coast swing put to bed after two weather-delayed tournaments on the coast of the Golden State. The Tour heads even further south this week, continuing its trek from Pebble Beach to Pacific Palisades and now just outside Mexico City for the WGC Mexico Championship.... 

Held in conjunction with the WGC Mexico Championship, the Puerto Rico Open didn’t attract the big names, but there are FedEx Cup points and a nice purse to go along with a PGA Tour title at stake. The event was cancelled last year with the assistance of Hurricane Maria, but the Coco Beach Golf and Country Club is set to resume hosting the tournament for some of the lesser known talents on Tour.... 

With the West Coast swing of the season put to rest the PGA Tour heads south of the border for this week’s playing of the WGC Mexico Championship in Naucalpan, Mexico. The limited field of 72 golfers features some of the best in the world with 17 of the top-20 ranked players scheduled to peg it up at the Club de Golf Chapultepec. Tiger Woods has turned this event into his own playground with seven titles spread over the different venues since the inception in 1999, but none since the Mexico stop... 

Would you expect anything less than a star-studded lineup in Tinseltown? That’s what we have with 14 of the top-20 ranked players in the world teeing it up this week at the Genesis Open, hosted by the iconic Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. Much like last week, the elements will be a factor with rain in the forecast. That didn’t prevent Phil Mickelson from taking home his record-tying fifth Pebble Beach title. Lefty and the rest of the field make the short trip south with the PGA Tour ... 

After reaching into Monday to finish off the Pebble Beach Pro Am, it’s a short turnaround for the boys on the PGA Tour. At least they don’t have to travel far, just a short jaunt down the coast to Pacific Palisades for the Genesis Open, contested at the famed Riviera Country Club. The legendary course brings out a legendary field with 14 of the world’s top-20 players competing for the hardware.... 

It’s off to the coast of California this week for the PGA Tour with a stop at one of the most breathtaking venues in all of golf when the pros and celebrity amateurs tee it up at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, hosted by the Pebble Beach Golf Links. The pro-am format increases the number of players and requires the field to compete over three different courses with a cut after the third round and Sunday’s final on the iconic layout. The event has surprised us in the past with last year a prime... 

Pebble Beach Golf Links plays host to its namesake event, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am, when the PGA Tour moves from the desert to the California Coast. With a full field of pros and celebrity amateurs, the four-day event will be spread across three courses with the field attacking each one over the first three days. The cut down will be made after 54 holes and the remaining players will compete for the title on Sunday at Pebble Beach.... 

With a good portion of the country blanketed in snow and freezing temperatures, the Waste Management Phoenix Open might attract more fans than usual when the PGA Tour stops in the desert for this week’s event. Playing alongside the prestigious Saudi International on the Euro Tour, and over Super Bowl weekend, the tournament has a solid field of competitors. Once again Jon Rahm is the betting favorite, topping the odds board at BookMaker.eu for a third straight tournament at +605. Phil Mickelson ... 

While most of the midwest and eastern states are suffering through a weather episode known as a polar vortex, the PGA Tour will tee it up in perfect weather this week at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Always a popular stop on the tour the event typically attracts a strong field, and this year is no different. Gary Woodland is back to defend his title on the TPC Scottsdale layout, as is Hideki Matsuyama, who pulled out of last year’s playing with an injury, ending his chance at a three-peat.... 

The season debut of Tiger Woods highlights this week’s stop on the PGA Tour when the gang gets together in San Diego for the Farmers Insurance Open. Woods has won the event seven times and conquered the Torrey Pines South Course to win the 2008 U.S. Open. We won’t see a battle between Tiger and Phil Mickelson, however, as Lefty opted to sit this one out. Lefty called out on his hometown event since he isn’t a big fan of the Torrey Pines South Course layout following a renovation that massively increased the length. We will see Tiger Woods make his season debut and the field isn’t lacking star power with a number of high-profile players among the field....

The four-day event gets underway Thursday with the first three rounds played across three different courses. Sunday’s final round will be contested on the Stadium Course at PGA West.... 

Following a two week stay in Hawai’i, the PGA Tour returns to the states for the first time in 2019 with the Desert Classic in La Quinta, Calif. The Holiday break is over and it’s back to work as the PGA Tour opens the New Year in Hawai’i for the playing of the Sentry Tournament of Champions at the Plantation Course in Kapalua. The end of the year fun and frivolity continues on the golf course as 12 two-player teams vie for the title at the 30th QBE Shootout, contested at the Tiburon Golf Club Gold Course in Naples, Florida, and hosted by Greg Norman. The event consists of three rounds beginning on Friday with each round played in a different stroke-play format. The opening round will be a scramble, followed by alternate shot format on Saturday.
