LIV Miami Team Championship Odds - Bet on LIV Golf

The unique season-ending LIV Golf Miami Team Championship comes with a lot of questions from fans, bettors and players themselves. The biggest question is: how does it work? Well, there is no individual component for the entire three-day event with only team members taking on the Trump National Doral course. This is the basic setup for the event that has 12 teams of four players battling for a $50 million purse.

The team aspect was used during the season to determine final standings with the top four teams getting a bye into Day 2. That means Nos. 5-12 battle on Oct. 28 in the opening of the three-day competition. Higher seeded teams pick their opponent and the squads compete in head-to-head match play to determine a winner. Two singles matches and a foursomes match take place within each match. There are no ties so each match will play until someone wins. The four teams earning two points move on to the semifinal round.

The same format is used on Saturday with the top teams selecting their opponent. The four teams earning two points will advance to Sunday’s final round. All 16 players will compete in twosomes on the final day with team captains playing together. All four scores count toward the team score with the lowest scoring team being crowned LIV Golf Invitational Series team champion. There really are no losers, though, with the last place team earning $1 million.

For a better chance at winning a bet on this tournament you need some insight on the teams. The names are fancy, but what about the players? If you haven’t been following LIV Golf over the past few months you probably have little idea of the team format. Below you’ll find odds and a brief synopsis of each team to hopefully give you a better chance at cashing a winning ticket.

Hy Flyers +2200
Majesticks +2200
Torque +2200
Cleeks +4000

4 Aces +225

Led by captain Dustin Johnson the 4 Aces dominated winning titles in Portland, Bedminster, Boston and Chicago with another fourth place finish last time out in Jeddah. The team consisting of Patrick Reed, Talor Gooch and Pat Perez has been the same since Portland with every current member contributing to the four consecutive team wins. You can’t have another team at the top of the odds board with how well this group played.

Crushers +400

The current roster of Bryson DeChambeau (c), Charles Howell III, Paul Casey and Anirban Lahiri hasn’t been together as long as that of the 4 Aces, but the group has played better overall the last two tournaments with a second in Bangkok and third in Jeddah.

Fire Balls +450

The international team of Sergio Garcia (c), Abraham Ancer, Carlos Ortiz and Eugenio Chacarra clicked in Jeddah with each player finishing 4-under or better. That’s good sign heading to Miami where every member has to contribute.

Smash +900

It took a few events for captain Brooks Koepka to find his game, but he did at the right time for Smash winning the individual title in Jeddah in a playoff over teammate Peter Uihlein. Brooks gets a chance to team with brother Chase Koepka with Jason Kokrak rounding out the team.

Stinger +900

After a blazing start to the season the South African contingent of Louis Oosthuizen (c), Charl Schwartzel, Brenden Grace and Hennie DuPlessis has slowed. That doesn’t mean they can’t return to form with Schwartzel and Grace two of seven individual winners this season.

Punch +1600

Captain Cameron Smith will have to carry the team with mates Marc Leishman, Matt Jones and Wade Ormsby struggling. It can happen, but it likely won’t.

Hy Flyers +2200

It’s been an underachieving quartet but without a doubt the Hy Flyers have potential. Captain Phil Mickelson leads a group that includes former European Tour standout Bernd Wiesberger, Matthew Wolff and Cameron Tringale.

Majesticks +2200

With their history of success and strong play over different tours it’s hard to overlook the Ian Poulter-captained squad. If veterans Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson and Sam Horsfield get hot this team could lead to a big payday.

Torque +2200

Complicating things for Torque is the addition of a new member ahead of the team championship. Adrian Otaegui joins the squad for the final leaving captain Joaquin Niemann, Scott Vincent and Jediah Morgan at a disadvantage.

Cleeks +4000

Captain Martin Kaymer was having his best start to a tournament before withdrawing in Jeddah. That doesn’t bode well for the team leaving Graeme McDowell, Laurie Canter and Richard Bland to pick up the pieces.

Iron Heads +4000

While they have the same odds as Cleeks I give little chance for this group to succeed. Captain Kevin Na supports Sadom Kaewkanjana, Phachara Khongwatmai and Sihwan Kim. Outside of Na they aren’t household names and they’ve had little success during the individual competitions.

Niblicks +4000

No top-four finishes has Niblicks resting at the bottom of the odds board. Captain Harold Varner III, Hudson Swafford, Turk Pettit and James Piot finished fifth in Bangkok but they also finished last twice and next to last in the last four events.
