For the 12^th straight season, the Puppy Bowl will air on Super Bowl Sunday. What started as a ratings gimmick has turned into a bonanza for Animal Planet as the event has become the network’s most highly rated broadcast each year and the second-highest rated event on Super Bowl Sunday. With multiple spin-offs, new animals, and other new features, this has become just as American as football in many ways. That’s why we’re going to break down the exciting showdown between Ruff and Fluff.... 

The game is played on a neutral field in Houston, and even though Atlanta is closer, the crowd could be tilted in favor of New England since it has the bigger fanbase. The Falcons are slight underdogs, and the big question will be if the Patriots’ highly-ranked defense can live up to its billing and slow down the Atlanta juggernaut.The Super Bowl will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. ET at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The Super Bowl is the one sporting event that grabs the attention of sports fans and non-sports fans alike. The Patriots lead the all-time series between the two teams, 7-6. However, the last meeting was back in 2013. The Patriots won the game 30-23 as the home team. This game pits the top scoring offense this season, the Falcons (33.9), versus the top scoring defense, the Patriots (15.6). This has occurred in the Super Bowl on six previous occasions, the team that lead the NFL in defense won five of those six games. The lone No. 1 offense to win was the 1989 San Francisco 49ers led by Joe Montana. He tossed five touchdown passes, including three to Jerry Rice, as the 49ers dropped the Denver Broncos 55-10. The last match-up between the top scoring offense and defense was Super Bowl XLVIII when the top ranked Seattle Seahawks defense shut down the top ranked Denver Broncos offense, with the Seahawks blowing out the Broncos 43-8. Regardless, this showdown will make for what should be an interesting game with many headlines to talk about and wager on.... 

Let the waiting begin. The two weeks between Championship Sunday and Super Bowl Sunday allow the two combatants so size up their opponent and get overly prepared for the Big Game. It also allows bettors to handicap the teams in an effort to make the correct wager that will put extra coin in their pocket. The New England Patriots were a favorite to be here. The Atlanta Falcons were not. That’s why the line opened at Pats -3 and 32 of the previous 50 favorites have won the Super Bowl.... 

The Pro Bowl has seen a lot of changes over the last few years and for the first time ever will be played in sunny Orlando, Florida this season. That isn’t the only change being made this year though. After three seasons of setting rosters up like schoolyard football and having captains pick teams, the league decided to move back to the traditional AFC vs. NFC format to try to reinvigorate interest. As the top seeds in their conference to not make the Super Bowl, Andy Reid and Jason Garrett will coach their respective conferences in this game.... 

The Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots have punched their ticket to Super Bowl 51! This is one of the most highly anticipated Super Bowls in recent history, if for nothing else the fact that we have a Hall of Fame quarterback going against a man who is potentially headed there himself and is having the best season of his career by a country mile. The Pittsburgh Steelers will get the chance to finally upend the team that has been their playoff bugaboo when they face the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday evening. Pittsburgh entered the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the AFC and looked like the real deal in wins against Miami and Kansas City. However, the Steelers are going to need to score touchdowns if they hope to beat the Pats. The wily veteran did in the young studs and the Green Bay Packers are headed back to the NFC Championship Game. The Pack stunned the Cowboys behind another MVP-type effort from Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay will have to tussle with another strong offensive club when they meet the Atlanta Falcons for the right to represent the National Football Conference in Super Bowl LI. The Pittsburgh Steelers are the hottest team in the NFL heading into their showdown with the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. Pittsburgh wasn’t even considered playoff-worthy after a loss to Dallas in Week 10, their fourth straight, left them at 4-5. But the Steelers responded, closing out the regular year with seven straight wins and knocking off Miami and Kansas City in the playoffs. Things don’t always work out the way they're supposed to in the NFL playoffs. And true, if you're a fan of the Texans, Raiders, Chiefs, Dolphins, Seahawks, Cowboys, Lions or Giants, this bracket didn't end up the way that you wanted it to. But for the rest of us out there, it's hard to say that we don't have two of, at worst, the three best teams in each conference playing against each other for the right to go to the Super Bowl in Houston. As a result, we've got an epic day of football ahead of us on January 22.... 

Though Super Bowl Sunday is obviously king, perhaps the most exciting day of football of the year is conference championship Sunday. It's the last time we see real home field advantages of the season, and there's nothing quite like the emotion that comes from having crowds dedicated to one side or the other. The football tends to be great as well, as games are often decided by the slimmest of margins. The matchups this year? They're surely about as good as it gets.... 

We wrap up a fun Divisional Round with a great matchup featuring a red-hot Aaron Rodgers carrying the Green Bay Packers on his shoulders through the end of the regular season and into the postseason against the NFC’s top-seeded Dallas Cowboys. Can the Cowboy’s rookie tandem of Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott help Dallas advance past the Divisional Round for the first time since 1995 or are we in for yet another disappointment from America’s Team?... 

In what looks to be the tightest matchup of the Divisional Round, the Kansas City Chiefs actually opened as underdogs at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although that’s since flipped, it goes to show how close this game could be. Eric Berry and Marcus Peters are part of a killer Kansas City secondary that led the league in interceptions while Pittsburgh is all about the trio of Big Ben, Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Smith as one of the best trio of skill position players in the sport.... 

In the biggest mismatch of the divisional round, the Houston Texans and New England Patriots are set to collide in the Saturday night timeslot. The Patriots were able to handle Houston easily in Week 3 without Tom Brady. This time, the future Hall-of-Famer will be under center, but the Texans still boast the best defense in the NFL in total yards allowed, but can Brock Osweiler lead this Houston offense against New England?... 

Can we expect the postseason legend of Russell Wilson to continue? The Atlanta Falcons could not take care of the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle back in Week 6 and will look get some revenge. They did score 21 in the third quarter, winning the second half to keep the game very close. They’ll also have home field advantage this time around. They enter the game as notable favorites, but the Seahawks have the postseason pedigree behind them and some favorable matchups in the air with Atlanta’s Desmond Trufant out....
