Super Bowl Betting Odds Heading Into NFL Week 18

In the blink of an eye, Week 18 of the NFL betting season has arrived with eight teams still jockeying for the final three available spots in both conferences. Of the 12 investments suggested over the course of the regular season, only one has been eliminated from postseason play – that being the Washington Commanders. As it stands heading into the final week of the regular season, we own shares of the Buffalo Bills +650, Baltimore Ravens +2200, New York Giants +18500, Philadelphia Eagles +686, Minnesota Vikings +2258, Pittsburgh Steelers +25000, San Francisco 49ers +1200, Seattle Seahawks +5300, Cincinnati Bengals +1050, Los Angeles Chargers +3750, and Jacksonville Jaguars +15500. Of those made wagers at the online sportsbook, we failed to get the best of the number with the Ravens, Vikings, Steelers, and Seahawks. Truth be told, none of those teams will hoist the Lombardi Trophy come the season’s end, so I’m not too broken up about it.

With it the final week of the regular season, it’s time to take a look at some of the teams that either qualified for the playoffs or could that we don’t own any shares of and decide if any are worthy of adding to the portfolio before the second season kicks off. The following are three teams worthy of taking beer money fliers on the Super Bowl LVII futures odds if nothing else.

Football Betting Bonus

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +2550

I’ve been hesitant to get involved with the Bucs all season due to the hot mess the team marched onto the field just about every passing week. But last week’s comeback win over the Carolina Panthers proved just how deadly the team can be when firing on most cylinders. While the defense allowed Sam Darnold to rip it a new one through the air, so too did Tom Brady and Mike Evans to earn Tampa Bay NFC South bragging rights a second straight season. NFL bettors have been waiting for this team to finally flip the switch all season long. It’s possible it just occurred!

If that’s the case, it means trouble for all that get in the Bucs way with the defense getting healthier and the offense finally on the same page with one another. There’s always the “GOAT” factor to take into consideration as well. Should the seeding hold up through Week 18, Tampa’s wild-card opponent would be a Dallas Cowboys team it already defeated 19-3 back in Week 1. Only this time, the Cowboys defense is severely beat up in the secondary which would afford Tom Brady a huge advantage. At +2550, the Bucs are a buy in my book with the likelihood of advancing into the Division Round. The only thing preventing me from being extremely confident is Todd Bowles continuing to roam the sideline.

Miami Dolphins +7500

This is undoubtedly a leap of faith investment knowing full well the Dolphins still need to beat the Jets in Week 18 and have New England fall to the Bills in Buffalo just to punch a ticket. From there, it will likely be a matchup with Kansas City, Buffalo, or Cincinnati dependent upon how the final week of the regular season plays out paired with what the NFL does about the Bills/Bengals suspended game; if anything.

Even so, a 75-1 rate of return is more than double what Miami offered to win it all before the season kicked off and that’s a heaping load of line value I simply can’t overlook. I’m also making this investment with the belief Tua Tagovailoa will be ready to go once the second season arrives. Should that be the case, I give him and the Fins passing attack spearheaded by Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle a shot against anyone in this league!

Detroit Lions +16000

So when you do a deep dive on the current Super Bowl LVII futures odds, you have no choice but to come to the conclusion oddsmakers are of the belief Green Bay secures the NFC’s seventh and final playoff bid. That means they expect the Seahawks to fall at home to the Rams and for the Cheeseheads to come out on top of the Sunday nighter against Detroit. The Packers odds to win it all fell from +6750 to +2650 after ousting the Minnesota Vikings. On the flipside, the Lions jumped from 130-1 to 160-1 while Seattle fell from 240-1 to 160-1 – the exact same odds as Detroit.

I’m not buying it! While I do give Los Angeles more than a realistic shot at playing spoiler Sunday afternoon, I think Dan Campbell’s outfit is better overall than the Packers. Green Bay’s late-season surge is nothing but hot noise! They played nobody save for the Dolphins whom they escaped with a win against due to the concussion suffered by Tua at the end of the first half. Yeah, but they also killed the Vikings. Big Deal! Minnesota’s as big a fraud there is – just take a look at its point differential for reference sake. Should Jared Goff and co. somehow find a way to the table, they won’t back down against anyone. In fact, they might just bite their bloody knee caps off instead!
