NFL Week 13 Ugly Dog Picks - NFL Betting Odds

NFL Week 13 Ugly Dog Picks

Are you ready for another week of ugly dog picks in the NFL? It was a slight losing week last week, as we went 2-3 ATS and that is the way we’ll track it, but if you got the Rams at +16.5 or more then you went 3-2 ATS. That makes the season record 28-23-2 ATS. Some of the best bets in the NFL each week are oftentimes wagers on teams that are considered the worst in the league. If you want to win money betting NFL games then you need to be willing to take teams no one else wants to bet. We refer to these teams as ugly dogs and you really have to hold your nose sometimes when you bet on them, but history has shown that going against the public works.

We have four games to look at for this week. Let’s look at the NFL Week 13 Ugly Dog picks.

Week 13 Ugly Dog Picks

Let me point out one fact that you are probably already aware of. When you bet these games, you are usually better off waiting until Sunday morning to make your wagers because you will probably get a better number than what I list from earlier in the week.

Denver Broncos +9 at Baltimore Ravens

There are some really ugly dogs this week on the Week 13 NFL schedule and the Broncos are definitely one of them. Denver is 3-8 and if not for the pathetic Houston Texans, the Broncos would have the worst record in the AFC. The Denver offense has been awful this season and Russell Wilson looks like he should be on the practice squad rather than the starting quarterback. The defense has been decent, but Denver simply can’t score enough points to stay competitive. This week’s game should be a Baltimore rout, but the Ravens have been finding ways to lose games that they should win. This one is ugly, but we take the Broncos plus the points.

Houston Texans +7.5 vs. Cleveland Browns

The worst team in the NFL is the Houston Texans and unfortunately for us they have been a regular in this column. Early in the season the Texans were at least competitive, but far too often lately they are falling too far behind in games to get the backdoor cover. That is exactly what happened last week against Miami, when the game was over before the half. The game this week could be more competitive, as the Browns are not a great team. Cleveland is expected to get Deshaun Watson back this week, but who knows how he will play. We’ll take the Texans plus the points as an ugly dog.

Los Angeles Rams +8 vs. Seattle Seahawks

Did you ever think you would see a defending Super Bowl champion getting more than a TD at home? The Rams are a complete mess right now, especially on offense, as they are decimated by injuries. They are without Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp and they were down to a third string quarterback last week. Perhaps John Wolford will get the start this week, but regardless, the Rams are still a struggling team right now. The Seahawks had a chance to win last week against the Raiders and let the game slip away. If Seattle misses the playoffs they may come back to that loss as a key one. The Seahawks laying points on the road is scary, but no one wants to take the Rams right now. We’ll take the Rams plus the points as an ugly dog.

Indianapolis Colts +10.5 at Dallas Cowboys

Another ugly dog this week is the Indianapolis Colts who are catching 10.5 points at Dallas. The Colts looked pathetic on offense last week against the Steelers and it doesn’t figure to get any better against Dallas. The public is going to be all over the Cowboys in this game and why not? It is obvious that Jeff Saturday is not the answer as head coach for Indianapolis and unless Dallas turns the ball over this should be an easy Dallas win. This is ugly, but that is the point, as we take the Colts plus the points.
