NFL Week 13 Ugly Dog Picks - Bet on Football

NFL Week 13 Ugly Dog Picks

If you want to win money betting NFL games then you need to be willing to take teams no one else wants to bet. We refer to these teams as ugly dogs and you really have to hold your nose sometimes when you bet on them, but history has shown that going against the public works. We went 1-4 with the picks in Week 12 although if you played the Eagles late you got a win at +6.5. That takes the season record to 28-26-1. We have six plays to look at for this week. Let’s take a look at the Week 13 Ugly Dog picks.

Week 13 Ugly Dog Picks

Cincinnati Bengals +11.5 at Miami Dolphins

The Bengals don’t have their starting quarterback but they are still playing hard and last week they covered against the Giants. Most people have given up on the Bengals this season since they don’t have Joe Burrow, but all indications are that Cincinnati is still trying to win. The Dolphins did what they were supposed to do last week and beat the Jets and they are expected to win again this week. The public is sure backing Miami and that helps our cause as we take the Bengals plus the points as an ugly dog.

Jacksonville Jaguars +9.5 at Minnesota Vikings

The Jaguars have been a regular in this column all season and lately they have been good to us, covering pointspreads. The Jaguars covered again last week and they are getting big points again this week. The Vikings are totally unreliable, as you never know what you are going to get. The Jaguars are still considered one of the worst teams in the NFL and they will continue to be an ugly dog, but at least we are getting big points again.

New York Jets +7.5 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The Jets are the only winless team in the NFL and they have been a pointspread loser for much of the season. We are stuck going with them again this week against a Las Vegas team that should be smarting after getting humiliated in Atlanta. This will be a true test if the Raiders are a playoff team and I am not so sure they are. Whether the Jets are good enough to be competitive is another story, as the Jets are a bad team. Regardless, we take the Jets as an ugly dog yet again.

New York Giants +10 at Seattle Seahawks

The Giants are almost assuredly going with backup Colt McCoy at quarterback this week with Daniel Jones hurt. It won’t be easy for the Giants against a Seattle team that is playing at a high level. This is definitely a letdown spot for the Seahawks after playing on Monday night against the Eagles, but it may not matter unless McCoy can make some plays. The public is all over the Seahawks in this one, but we take the Giants as an ugly dog.

Philadelphia Eagles +9.5 at Green Bay Packers

The Eagles have a bad offense, with a quarterback in Carson Wentz who simply has forgotten how to play. Philadelphia is not going to win games right now with Wentz under center. Whether they can get him straightened out for the future is in debate, but right now the Eagles are going nowhere until they bench Wentz. I am actually surprised the number on this game is not higher, as the Eagles are not going to win unless the Packers turn the ball over. This one is really ugly, as we take the Eagles plus the points.

Denver Broncos +14 at Kansas City Chiefs

The last of the ugly dogs this week is Denver, who has lost their last 10 games against the Chiefs. There is no reason to think the Broncos are going to be competitive on Sunday night, as the Chiefs are rolling. The only chance for Denver is if the Chiefs have a letdown. It may not matter, as the Broncos don’t have the secondary to keep Mahomes, Hill and Kelce in check. This is another ugly one, but that is the point, as we take the Broncos plus the points.
