NFL Week 10 Ugly Dog Picks - NFL Betting Odds

NFL Week 10 Ugly Dog Picks

Are you ready for another week of ugly dog picks in the NFL? We bounced back from our first losing week of the season with a nice 3-1 ATS last week. That improves the season record to 22-16-1 ATS. Some of the best bets in the NFL each week are oftentimes wagers on teams that are considered the worst in the league. If you want to win money betting NFL games then you need to be willing to take teams no one else wants to bet. We refer to these teams as ugly dogs and you really have to hold your nose sometimes when you bet on them, but history has shown that going against the public works. We have five games to look at for this week.

Let’s look at the NFL Week 10 Ugly Dog picks.

Week 10 Ugly Dog Picks

Let me point out one fact that you are probably already aware of. When you bet these games, you are usually better off waiting until Sunday morning to make your wagers because you will probably get a better number than what I list from earlier in the week.

Carolina Panthers +3 vs. Atlanta Falcons

The Thursday night game has the Panthers at home hosting the Falcons. The Panthers are definitely an ugly dog, as they have just two wins on the season. In a decent division they would be dead and buried in terms of the playoff race, but in the NFC South, they are only two games behind Atlanta and Tampa Bay for first place. The Falcons have played well at times this season and with a record of 4-5 they are actually tied for first place with the Bucs. The Panthers looked better with Baker Mayfield at quarterback in the second half last week, but whether he gets the start in this one is still in question. We’ll take the Panthers as an ugly dog on Thursday night.

Jacksonville Jaguars +9.5 at Kansas City Chiefs

The Jaguars got a win last week but how much credit you get for beating the Raiders is up for debate. The Jaguars are still having a poor season and now they have to go on the road and face Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. That doesn’t seem like a recipe for success. Perhaps the Chiefs will have a letdown after beating Tennessee last week. Regardless, the Jaguars are still an ugly dog, so we take them plus the points in this game.

Pittsburgh Steelers +3 vs. New Orleans Saints

The Steelers are a mess right now at 2-6 on the season and they are almost assuredly going to end the season with a losing record. They have put their future in the hands of Kenny Pickett at quarterback and he is simply not ready yet. Perhaps the bye will help Pittsburgh a little bit and it definitely doesn’t hurt that they are playing another team that is struggling in New Orleans. We’ll take the Steelers as an ugly dog.

Houston Texans +6.5 at New York Giants

The Texans are the worst team in the league in terms of overall record but they still play hard each week. The problem for Houston is that Davis Mills makes too many mistakes and the defense isn’t very good. The Texans continue to get respect from the oddsmakers, as the Giants are only 6.5-point favorites at home. Houston has been in this column a lot this year but at least last week they covered the spread. We take them again this week as an ugly dog.

Green Bay Packers +5.5 vs. Dallas Cowboys

There are not many offenses in the NFL right now that are uglier than Green Bay’s. Aaron Rodgers looks old and he has very little chemistry with his receivers. The Packers are catching almost a TD at home against the Cowboys, but there is very little reason to like Green Bay. There is no question that the Packers are now in the ugly dog category so we take them plus the points this week.
