TCU Horned Frogs vs. Georgia Bulldogs CFP National Championship Props

The College Football National Championship Game takes place on Monday night, as the TCU Horned Frogs play the Georgia Bulldogs. You can bet on the side, total and money line for the title game and you can also bet on National Championship Game props. The Bulldogs are listed as a 12.5-point favorite with the total listed at 63. If you don’t want to lay the big points for the game, you could choose to bet the first half and you can also bet props like the first team to score and the first player to score a touchdown. Let’s look at TCU vs. Georgia props.

On Monday, January 9, 2023, the TCU Horned Frogs play the Georgia Bulldogs in the CFP National Championship Game at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA. Kickoff time is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with television coverage on ESPN.

CFB National Championship Odds

TCU Horned Frogs +12.5

Georgia Bulldogs -12.5

Total: 63

Money Line: TCU +330, Georgia -420

First Half: TCU +7, Georgia -7, total 32.5

First Team to Score

TCU Horned Frogs +145

Georgia Bulldogs -180

The Bulldogs are listed as a solid favorite to score first in the National Championship Game. I am a little surprised the line on this prop isn’t higher, considering the Bulldogs are listed as a big favorite in the game. I think Georgia will come out strong simply because head coach Kirby Smart will have told the team they were fortunate to beat Ohio State and that they can’t afford to start slow in this game. Normally when you see a team listed as a double-digit favorite you will have this prop listed with the favored team at -200 or more. That is not the case in this prop, with Georgia laying only -180. I think there is value on taking the Bulldogs to score first at this number.

When you look at the odds on the player to score the first touchdown you have to look at Georgia first simply because they are a hefty favorite in the game. Kenny McIntosh is the obvious choice and his odds are listed at +600. He had 10 rushing TDs in the regular season and one receiving touchdown. Brock Bowers is the second choice and he combined for nine touchdowns in the regular season. If you are looking for value then you might want to take a shot on Stetson Bennett. His odds are listed at +1300. He had seven rushing touchdowns during the regular season for the Bulldogs.

If you think TCU is going to score first then there could be some value. I don’t think you can get past Kendre Miller at odds of +800. He had 17 rushing touchdowns for TCU during the regular season and he is the obvious choice to score for the first touchdown for the Horned Frogs. It is worth noting, however, that Miller is officially listed as questionable, but it is hard to believe he won’t be in there Monday night. If he can’t go, then it would be Emari Demercado getting the start in the backfield.

If you want to take a shot with another player then I would probably go with Quentin Johnston at odds of +1000. I would prefer to be getting higher odds, but Georgia showed weakness in their secondary against Ohio State and I think Johnston could get loose for the first score of the game.
