2020 ACC Football Schedule Analysis

While some college football conferences have decided to postpone College Football until the spring, a number of major conferences, including the ACC, will be going ahead with a fall football schedule. The 2020 ACC college football schedule will look different than previous seasons because of the COVID-19 situation and the 2020 ACC college football schedule will include a temporary new member, as Notre Dame will play in the ACC. Let’s look at the 2020 ACC college football schedule.

2020 ACC College Football Schedule

ACC teams will play an 11-game schedule in 2020 with the first conference games starting on Saturday, September 12th. The first team in action in 2020 will be Miami as they will play UAB on Thursday, September 10th. Teams will play 11 games over a span of 13 weeks. Each team will have 10 conference games and one out of conference matchup. Notre Dame will be one of those teams and they will be eligible to play in the ACC Championship Game. The ACC title game will be played on December 12th or December 19th at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Clemson Tigers Heavily Favored

The Clemson Tigers are heavily favored to win the ACC Championship yet again. The Tigers are listed at odds of anywhere from -600 to -800. The Tigers have won five straight ACC championships and in the last five seasons have lost only two conference games, going 38-2. If you include the ACC title games, the Tigers are 43-2 in their last 45 conference games. The Tigers return quarterback Trevor Lawrence and they are the clear choice to win the ACC in 2020.

Fighting Irish Playing in the ACC

Notre Dame will play in the ACC this season and that means that many of the traditional matchups for the Irish will not take place this season. The only non-conference game for Notre Dame will be when the Irish host Western Michigan. The annual game between Notre Dame and Navy will not be played this season. Notre Dame will host Clemson on November 7th in one of the high profile ACC games this season.
