Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury Betting

At long last, the war of the words between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury that has gone on for the last 18 months will be decided in the ring. Paul and Fury were originally slated to fight in Tampa, Florida on December 18, 2021, but Fury pulled out of the fight due to an injury. They rebooked the fight for August 6, 2022, but Fury didn’t head to the US due to travel issues, and Paul backed out of a potential showdown with Hasim Rahman Jr. Now, these two famous brothers will finally have the opportunity to face each other in the ring less than two weeks from today.

On Sunday, February 26, 2023, Tommy Fury and Jake Paul will square off at the Diriyah Arena in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia on the outskirts of the capital Riyadh. This bout will be broadcast in the United States on ESPN+ PPV starting at 2 p.m. ET.

Although Tommy Fury is 8-0 and Jake Paul is 6-0, Paul is the favorite by the boxing betting odds in this bout. The social media star has picked and chosen his opponents well so far, and Fury fits the mold as someone that can potentially beat him but probably won’t given he has backed out of two fights. If you are unfamiliar with betting on boxing, a $185 bet on Paul would earn you $100 if he were to get the win. Conversely, a $100 bet on Fury would net a $146 profit if he were to win.

As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.

Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury Preview

The Paul Brothers struck upon a multimillion-dollar idea when they got into celebrity boxing. Both Jake Paul and Logan Paul have been in the collective ethos enough that their fights draw eyeballs, and they have taken the fights seriously enough to earn begrudging respect from boxing fans. This has been a lot more respectable than FOX’s Celebrity Boxing from the mid-2000s too, as those fights pitted out of shape D-list celebrities against one another.

Jake Paul’s first two opponents were pushovers and he wasted little time on either AnEsonGib or former NBA guard Nate Robinson. Paul next knocked out UFC submission specialist Ben Askren in another mismatch, but Tyron Woodley proved to be up to the challenge. Woodley stood toe to toe with Paul, and Paul ended up escaping with a split decision victory. There was a rematch that Paul won more convincingly a few months later after Tommy Fury pulled out of this fight for the first time.

Paul also scored a unanimous decision victory over Anderson Silva last October, and the 0 next to his name helped ensure this fight would eventually happen.

As for Tommy Fury, the younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has yet to go more than six rounds in a ring. Four of his eight wins have come by knockout in the first or second round, but his last three victories have come by the judges’ scorecards. Additionally, two of those three bouts were scheduled to go just six rounds.

Interestingly, the WBC has said that Jake Paul would receive an official ranking at cruiserweight if he beat Tommy Fury. That could lead to Paul earning a shot at the WBC Cruiserweight Championship, and current champion Ilunga Makabu is on the undercard of this fight. That’s something to keep an eye on, as that would require a real commitment from Paul going forward.
