Warriors at Celtics NBA Finals Game 4 Betting

The Boston Celtics can take another step toward their NBA record 18th world championship with a win over the Golden State Warriors in Game 4 of the 2022 NBA Finals. Following their blowout loss in Game 2, the Celtics made the first Finals game in Boston since 2010 a memorable one with a 116-100 blowout to take a 2-1 series lead. The top defensive team in the league did its thing on Wednesday with the Celtics holding Golden State to 11 fourth quarter points allowing for a comeback. Easily covering the 3.5-point line on Wednesday, the Celtics hit the board as a 4-point favorite ahead of Game 4.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics will air live on ABC with tip off at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, June 10, 2022 from TD Garden. BookMaker.eu will have betting options for every game of the NBA Finals.

Playoff Analysis

It’s Golden State’s turn now. Neither team has lost consecutive games this postseason with Boston keeping the trend alive in Game 3. The Warriors have been impressive in their last four games following a loss winning them all by an average of over 18 points with no game closer than 10 points. The only problem is all those took place in the Bay Area where outside of their Game 1 loss in this series they’ve been perfect. The road struggles continued on Wednesday, though. The Warriors have now lost two straight away from home and are just 3-5 SU and 2-6 ATS. And to make matters worse Stephen Curry was injured late in the fourth quarter when Al Horford bumped his leg while going after a loose ball. “See how it feels tomorrow and get ready for Friday,” Curry said. Prior to exiting Curry had his biggest game of the Finals scoring 31 points on 12 of 22 shooting with six three-pointers.

I guess you could say the Celtics learned a few things from their Game 2 setback. They were bullied and taken out of their game by the antics of Draymond Green. But they kept their composure with Green in Game 3 and they didn’t get flustered when they were outscored again by a wide margin in the third quarter. Boston led by as many as 18 points in the first half and watched that lead disappear in the third when they were outscored 33-25. The Celtics have conceded 106 points in the third frame while scoring just 63. Just like they did in Game 1, the Celtics dominated the fourth quarter allowing them to pull away for the cover win. They allowed only 11 points and have outscored Golden State 87-47 in the final quarter.

Golden State Warriors

The good news is that Klay Thompson showed up on Wednesday. After a horrible start to the series and shooting 1 of 8 from behind the arc in Game 2, Thompson scored 25 points hitting 5 of 13 triples. The Warriors shot 46 percent from the field but collectively were just 15 of 40 from deep. And they struggled to contain the athletic Boston forwards getting outrebounded 47-31 with 15 of those on the offensive glass.

The Warriors definitely need more from Draymond Green. He wasn’t a factor on defense and added little to the cause in his nearly 35 minutes. He was just 1 of 4 for two points with four rebounds and three assists before fouling out.

Boston Celtics

After getting pushed around in Game 2 the Celtics were the aggressor on Wednesday. “Game 2 they brought the heat to us. That left a bad taste in our mouth because what we hang our hat on is effort on the defensive end and being a physical team. It definitely woke us up,” Marcus Smart said. And the Celtics may have found the homecourt magic that’s been missing this postseason. They were just 5-4 in the Garden before Game 3, but they improved to 14-7 SU and 13-7-1 ATS covering the 3.5-point line.

Coming back after blowing a big lead was a product of their defense. Holding the explosive Warriors to 11 points in the fourth quarter was quite an accomplishment. In fact it was the third fewest points in a Finals game in the shot-clock era. Dominating the glass left few second chance opportunities and the Celtics cut back the turnovers after coughing it up 18 times in Game 2.

Boston’s athleticism was a big reason for their victory. They swarm and contest nearly every shot. It also helps on the other end allowing Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to shed defenders. The pair combined for 53 points on nine three-pointers and the Celtics didn’t crumble after another scary third quarter.
