Old School Meets New School
Two of the greatest right-handed hitters ever will be on display in this three game set starting on Tuesday as Albert Pujols and the Los Angeles Angels travel to Michigan to take on Miguel Cabrera and the Detroit Tigers. Pujols is fresh off his 600th career homer, but home runs aside, it’s Cabrera who is swinging the bat better to this point of the year....
After dropping seven of their last 10 games, the San Francisco Giants find themselves tied with Padres at the bottom of the NL West. It’s been a rough season for Bruce Bochy’s squad, particularly when playing on the road. They’re a game under-.500 at home, but 10-21 on the road. The Milwaukee Brewers will look to cash in on that. They’re actually a better road team, but enter the four game set much better positioned....
The Orioles have been much better at home than on the road this season while Pittsburgh has struggled away from their park, so Baltimore would love to sweep this short series. The Pirates started slowly but have been playing better of late and need to keep it going to avoid becoming a seller at the trading deadline. They would probably be happy with a split against a good team on the road. This series will be contested from Tuesday, June 6 through Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland. Both games will be televised regionally on the MLB Network....
The Yankees have one of the best offenses in the major leagues but the Red Sox aren’t too far behind. These teams both have the talent to make the playoffs but each are aiming for the division title. While it’s still early in the season, this is an important and intriguing showdown for both sides. This series will be contested from Tuesday, June 6 through Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York. Tuesday and Wednesday’s matchups will be shown on MLB Network, while Thursday’s will be nationally televised on ESPN....
It’s back home for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday where they’ll kick off a three-game series against the NL East leading Washington Nationals. Washington will wrap up a three-city west coast swing in this series and have gotten off to a great start to the nine-game road trip. The Dodgers will be the biggest test, however, as they’re playing great baseball and have worked their way back atop the NL West. This series will be contested from Monday, June 5, 2017 through Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles. Monday's showdown is being shown live on ESPN while the game on Wednesday can be seen on MLB Network....
The Toronto Blue Jays have gotten most of their roster back and have played strong baseball over the last few weeks, climbing back into the AL East picture. After a weekend stint against the Yankees, a trip out west to face the Oakland Athletics will be a welcome sight. The A’s, meanwhile, will hope a cross country road trip for the opposition and home field advantage can help them steal a game or two against one of baseball’s hotter teams. This series will be contested from Monday, June 5, 2017 through Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at O.co Coliseum in Oakland. Monday's clash is being on the MLB Network for those outside the local television markets....
The Cardinals are on the road but have the superior squad, so they should at least be able to split this four-game set and would love to win three of the games. The Reds are likely going to fall off as the season goes on because their pitching is so thin, but the offense has carried the team thus far and will aim to keep it rolling against a tough pitching opponent. This series will be contested from Monday, June 5 through Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio. Monday’s matchup will be broadcast on MLB Network....
Both teams are far off the pace in the National League East and are more focused on rebuilding at this time. Atlanta has been playing better of late and has the home field advantage, so it should be favored to at least split this series while aiming to pick up three victories. This series will be contested from Monday, June 5 through Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia....

Are the Cleveland Indians finally get on track? Expected to run away with the American League, or at least the AL Central, the Tribe had trouble early, but do now sit atop the division. A three-game set against the Kansas City Royals this weekend should serve to pad their lead as the Royals are well below-.500 and are getting ready to pull the plug on what has been a fun few seasons for the low-market club....
Who would have thought the first-place team in this matchup would be the Milwaukee Brewers? Nevertheless, here we are in June and the Brew Crew top the NL Central while the Los Angeles Dodgers’ are neck and neck with the Diamondbacks and behind the Rockies in the NL West. To be fair, the Dodgers do still have the better record, but Milwaukee is without a doubt the better story and claim home field advantage for this three-game set....
The Chicago Cubs were expected to run away and hide with the National League Central this season, but the reality is much different. The struggling defending World Series champions are under .500 nearly a quarter if the way into the season. The St. Louis Cardinals are ahead of the Cubs in the standings and will aim to stay there when they face off in a three-game series this weekend....
The Chicago White Sox have a positive run-differential and are only four games out of first place in the American League Central, but they are still in a precarious position. The White Sox sit in fourth place in the division at 24-28 and may be selling at the trade deadline if they can’t improve their spot in the standings over the next couple of months....
The Toronto Blue Jays were left for dead by some after a horrific start to the season, but here they are, clawing back into the race for the American League East. While they still sit in last place, Toronto has improved to just one game under .500 by winning eight of its past 10 and sit 5.5 games behind the division-leading New York Yankees. The teams will face off this week in a critical series for the Blue Jays as they aim to inch closer to the rest of the pack. New York is playing well and wants to stay ahead of the talented teams in the division, and this should be an intriguing showdown packed full of offensive firepower....
The Arizona Diamondbacks have been one of the pleasant surprises in the major leagues, hanging right with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the upstart Colorado Rockies in the National League West. While most were expecting another middling year from Arizona, the team seems like a playoff contender and will aim to stay hot in a road series against the Miami Marlins.Like the D-Backs, Miami has some good young pieces but the pitching has been poor and the offense has not been able to pick up the slack. The Marlins have won four in a row entering this series but still sit at just 21-30 overall and will need to get a lot hotter in order to have a legitimate shot at the postseason....
With the Minnesota Twins, still atop the AL Central, this series had so much potential to be a nice under-the-radar series to watch—and bet on—over the weekend. It will still provide some great betting action, but no Mike Trout certainly eats into the intrigue. The Los Angeles Angels tested the Trout-less show against the Braves, but now get to face a first-place team without the game’s best player. This series will be contested from Thursday, June 1, 2017 through Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Angels Stadium in Anaheim. Saturday’s game will be shown live on MLB Network for those outside the local television markets....
The Baltimore Orioles dropping 14 of their last 19 games has allowed the Boston Red Sox to jump them in the standings. Now, the Birds will try to claw their way back on top of the BoSox. The Orioles snapped a seven-game losing streak on Monday and just took two of three from the first-place Yankees. It’s a start, but can they keep up the success as they shift divisional foes? This series will be contested from Thursday, June 1, 2017 through Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore. Saturday’s game will be broadcast live on FOX with the other three games of this series shown on MLB Network for those outside the local broadcast markets....

The Cubs have to hit the road for the next three games but get to face off against a poor opponent in the San Diego Padres. Despite its woes Chicago should be the favorite to claim at least a pair of these games. The Cubs have lost three consecutive games and have dropped to third place in the National League Central. They have big plans this season but need to start picking it up....
The Mets have been racked by injuries this season and could already be out of the playoff hunt unless they turn it around quickly. This would be a big series for them to claim against a team that is playing well on the road this year. This series will be contested from Monday, May 29 through Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Citi Field in Queens, New York....
The Seattle Mariners and Colorado Rockies will meet up in the four games home-and-home series. The Rockies remain the hottest team in the National League heading into this series while the Mariners are still trying to catch up after their slow start to the season. A big series against the NL’s best team to date would go a long way....
The Cincinnati Reds were one of the biggest positive surprises while the Toronto Blue Jays were one of the biggest stories on the downside. Now, these two teams are set to meet in a best of three series with the difference between their respective records minimal. The Jays are trending upward and are getting healthy while the Reds’ horrendous starting rotation is starting to take its toll....
