Belmont Park Race Track Betting OddsTriple Crown Betting: Belmont Park opened in 1905 and is located just outside of New York City limits in Elmont, New York. The track is operated by the New York Racing Association and the facility is 430 acres in size. The main track is one-and-a-half miles in distance, making Belmont longest track of any thoroughbred race track in North America. From the final turn to the finish, the track stretches 1,097 feet. The racetrack can hold up to 90,000 fans with seating for 32,941 spectators. Belmont Park has been the scene of some of the greatest horse racing moments in the sports history, including Secretariat’s historic, record-setting win at the Belmont Stakes in 1973 when he finished the mile-and-a-half trek in 2 minutes, 24 seconds, a record that still stands today in horse racing betting.

The most significant event held at the Belmont Park race track is the Belmont Stakes, an American Grade 1 thoroughbred race which takes in early June each year. The prize for the Belmont Stakes is $1.5 million. This race the third and final leg of the Triple Crown, preceded by the the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes. The Belmont Stakes is often called  "Test of the Champion” as its where Triple Crown hopefuls dreams are crushed and fulfilled.

The Belmont Stakes is the longest race of all Triple Crown events. The event was buzzing with excitement last year as American Pharoah became the 12th horse ever to win the American Triple Crown in horse racing history, ending a 37-year drought of Triple Crown winners. Other big races taking place at Belmont Park this year include the Grade I Jockey Club Gold Cup on October, a Grade I thoroughbred race with a $1 million purse as well as the Knob Creek Manhattan Handicap and the NYRA.com Metropolitan Handicap on June 11th. Belmont Park’s racing season typically runs from May through July and then again from September through October. The park will see 92 racing days this year, including 54 in spring and summer and another 38 in the fall in horse racing betting.

The Belmont Stakes will once again cap the Triple Crown again in 2018 and it will be interesting to see if another horse can follow in American Pharaoh's footsteps and capture the three victories in horse racing wagering.
