Saturday Premier League Picks

There are a little more than two months left in the 2018-19 Premier League campaign. This is one of the final times for teams to make moves, and every team will be out to make one last push. Whether it’s a team looking for a league title, a place in Europe, a place in next year’s Premier League, or just a better finish in the standings this year, these next two months will make or break seasons.

Premier League Betting Odds at BookMaker.eu
Crystal Palace -119
Brighton & Hove Albion +358
Draw +248
Over/Under 2 and 2.5

In the first meeting between these two teams, Crystal Palace played one of their first games of the season. Even though one of Brighton’s best players (Shane Duffy) was sent off with a red card in the 28th minute, Palace were unable to capitalize and gave up two goals before finally scoring. The Glaziers ended up losing 3-1 despite being up a man for more than two-thirds of the match, and it was hard to be excited about this team after that.

Now, it’s Brighton who are struggling. They finally notched their first EPL win of 2019 with a 1-0 victory over last place Huddersfield Town, but they were far from impressive in the win. They’ve had trouble scoring without Pascal Gros in the lineup, so I’ll take Crystal Palace to win on the three-way line.

Newcastle United +180
Everton FC +171
Draw +209
Over/Under 2 and 2.5

It took time for Newcastle’s attack to get going, but the Magpies are flourishing at the moment. They did lose 2-0 to West Ham last week, yet they won 2-0 in their two previous games and took 17 shots against the Hammers. Salomon Rondon has eased Newcastle’s woes up top, and the addition of Miguel Almiron has made this midfield more creative.

I like their chances to get the win over Everton. Richarlison is fading fast once again, and Everton have had some real trouble creating chances without him. Gylfi Sigurdsson is the only player that has played well, and that’s not a good sign for the Toffees.

Southampton FC +305
Tottenham Hotspur -113
Draw +269
Over/Under 2.5 and 3

Leicester City -169
Fulham FC +450
Draw +319
Over/Under 2.5 and 3

Huddersfield Town +228
AFC Bournemouth +131
Draw +221
Over/Under 2 and 2.5

There were three goals in the first 38 minutes in the first meeting between these two clubs, and I think the over is a great bet. Bournemouth have been more than willing to play a wide-open style no matter who they are playing against, and a half-loss is likely the worst case scenario. The Cherries have seen 27 of their 29 league games finish with at least two goals, and many have had three goals or more.

The Terriers don’t have an impressive offense, but they have to open things up given their place in the standings. They are 13 points shy of safety, and they can’t afford to settle for draws with just nine matches left.

Cardiff City +238
West Ham United +117
Draw +241
Over/Under 2.5

Manchester City -660
Watford FC +1536
Draw +710
Over/Under 3.5

There’s no doubt that Manchester City are one of the most talented teams we have ever seen in the Premier League given their signings, but this line is a little silly considering what we have seen from the Citizens. They have already lost four matches this season, and three of those losses came against teams outside the Big Six.

Watford lost 2-1 to City in the first meeting between these teams, and the Hornets are playing good football in recent weeks. They have hung tough against most of their Big Six opponents, and I’ll be taking Watford on the goal line.
