Manchester United at Watford - 2018-19 Premier League Props

You haven’t had much to be excited about if you’re a Manchester United fan this year. The Red Devils are sitting in the middle of the table with a 2-0-2 record through four games, and there is plenty of speculation that Jose Mourinho might not be long for Old Trafford if things don’t turn around soon.

Meanwhile, it’s been a fantastic start to the season for Watford fans. The Hornets were one of four teams tied atop the table with a 4-0-0 record headed into the international break, and they already have scored victories over Tottenham and on the road against Burnley. With this start, Watford is dreaming of its first entry into European competition in more than 35 years.

Odds Analysis

The Red Devils have had their share of woes early on. Manchester United were a little fortunate to get three points in their opener against Leicester City, and their back line was exposed the next week in a loss to Brighton and Hove. In that match, Brighton scored three times in the first half and simply held on from there to score a big win.

Rock bottom came rather quickly as Manchester United lost 3-0 at home to Tottenham three weeks ago. In that match, the Red Devils looked sharp in the first half for the first time all season, but they were unable to find the back of the net and were run over in the second half of that game. They got back to their winning ways two weeks ago against Burnley, but even that came at a price with Marcus Rashford now serving a three-match suspension after he picked up a red card in the 71st minute.

Watford must be on cloud nine with this start to the season. The Hornets beat Brighton and Burnley by two goals each in their first two matches of the year, and then they followed that up with an impressive win over Crystal Palace.

The club’s first real test came two weeks ago when the team hosted Tottenham. Watford fell behind 1-0 in that match, but then their imposing forwards got going. The Hornets notched headers off of set pieces twice in the span of eight minutes to go up for good.

Key Injuries

Watford has three players that have yet to play this season, and two of the three have been ruled out for this game. Tom Cleverley and Younes Kaboul will not play, but Gerard Deulofeu may be fit enough to make his debut. He has been out with a groin injury to this point.

There are a total of six players on Manchester United’s injury list. Phil Jones is the only injured player to be ruled out, while Marcus Rashford will begin serving his suspension this week. Reserve goalkeeper Sergio Romero is doubtful to play, and Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Diogo Dalot, and Marouane Fellaini are all considered questionable.

Player to Watch

Romelu Lukaku is the player to keep an eye on. He had a brilliant performance in Manchester United’s win over Burnley, notching a brace and wreaking havoc on the back line throughout the match. It was another solid performance from Lukaku, who can take over games with his incredible play at times.

The over is a great play in this one. Watford has been good in the back line, but not great, while their forwards have been able to cause trouble for every opponent they have faced. This has all the trappings of a high-scoring affair.
