EPL Betting Odds

Two mid-table teams will meet up when Leicester City hosts Crystal Palace on Saturday. However, not all mid-table teams are created equal. Leicester City currently sit in 12th place with 32 points, while Crystal Palace are in 13th, but a full five points behind the hosts. While Leicester are pretty safe, Palace are in a bit of danger as there is a cluster at the bottom and they are just three points up on the drop.

Odds Analysis

Crystal Palace have been playing very well in recent weeks. Palace have secured a result in five straight matches in all competitions, and they continue to advance in the FA Cup. They upset Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the fourth round of the competition and doubled their pleasure with a 2-0 victory over Doncaster in the fifth round last weekend. In Premier League action, they have secured draws against Southampton and West Ham and knocked off Fulham 2-0.

Things haven’t been easy for Leicester City, but that has largely been due to the schedule makers. The Foxes have played three straight Big Six clubs, so it’s not surprising that they have picked up just one point in those games. Losses to Southampton, Cardiff City, and Newport County have been harder to explain though. All those losses have sent Leicester slipping down the table and that’s why the Foxes aren’t very big favorites.

Key Injuries

Connor Wickham is unfortunately injured once again, and he has already been ruled out of this match by Crystal Palace. Papa Souare will be out for another few weeks with a dislocated shoulder, but he didn’t play much even when healthy. Julian Speroni is listed as doubtful due to a thigh injury.

Daniel Amartey continues to sit out after undergoing foot surgery four months ago, but he could return as soon as next week. Leicester City’s only other injury is Marc Albrighton, who will be out until the end of the year with a bad hamstring injury.

Player to Watch

Luka Milivojevic is Palace’s leading scorer, but it’s his defense that makes him valuable. Milivojevic has seven goals on the year, yet six of those seven tallies have come from the spot. The Serbian international has been great as a holding midfielder over the course of his career, and he will be out to shut down Leicester City’s attack on Saturday.

Previous Meeting

It’s been two years since Leicester City last scored a goal against Crystal Palace. The Foxes were shut out in 3-0 and 5-0 losses to the Eagles last campaign, and Palace knocked off Leicester City 1-0 two months ago. The one goal was Milivojevic’s lone goal that hasn’t come from the spot, but the story of the game was defense. The two teams combined to put just three shots on net.

Prop Bet – Crystal Palace to win to nil +395

Given the recent history between these two teams and Leicester City’s poor form in recent weeks, there is reason to like this bet at this price. Palace have one of the better defenses in the Premier League, and if they are going to win they are likely to post a clean sheet. At almost 4-1, this is good value.

Free Soccer Betting Pick

I think Palace will continually frustrate the Leicester City attack to get a win that would make them very safe in the standings. Jamie Vardy and the Foxes have a habit of playing down to opponents, so a loss here isn’t a big shock.

English Premier League Odds: Crystal Palace 1, Leicester City 0
