Crystal Palace at Bournemouth - Soccer Betting

Bournemouth continue to defy the expectations. The small club first broke into the Premier League four seasons ago, and they have managed to stay up despite a number of disadvantages. The Cherries don’t have the resources to even match the mid-table clubs and play in a stadium that holds just 11,000 people. Incredibly, they look like they will make it for another season and could even finish in the top half of the table. A win over Crystal Palace on Monday Night Football may eventually make that a reality.

Odds Analysis

Crystal Palace started the season off with a nice road win over Fulham at Craven Cottage. However, they lost their next three matches, and while two of those were understandable, the home loss to Southampton really stung. The Eagles have rallied since those losses, picking up an important three points on the road against Huddersfield Town and getting a draw against Newcastle United.

The Cherries opened their season with two of the weaker teams in the Premier League and took advantage with wins over Cardiff City and West Ham. They followed that up by salvaging a draw against Everton before losing to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Bournemouth grabbed another win at home against Leicester City two weeks ago, racing out to a 4-0 lead in that one, but they were whooped by Burnley last week.

Key Injuries

Three players will be on the sidelines for the side of Bournemouth in this match. Charlie Daniels is continuing to recuperate from a knee injury and might be able to play next week, while Kyle Taylor and Dan Gosling both have lower leg injuries and are still being assessed.

The injuries are a bit worse for Crystal Palace, with four players being scratched for this game. Scott Dann, Jairo Riedewald, and Christian Benteke are all trying to recover from knee injuries, while Connor Wickham is hoping to be healthy enough to play next week through a lower leg injury.

Player to Watch

Ryan Fraser has been a treat to watch this season. The Bournemouth winger is one of the shortest players in the Premier League at 5’4, but his small stature isn’t the reason he is on the pitch. He has tallied three goals and two assists through six matches, and the offense has been running through him.

Due to his height, he is tough to knock off the ball and that has led to some dazzling runs. He has created a dozen quality chances this season, and he is likely to find a goal against Palace.

Prop Bet of the Game – Bournemouth -0.5 and -1 at +158

The Cherries have played very well at home this season. They won by two goals over Cardiff City and Leicester City at home and erased a two-goal deficit against Everton there too. This venue can be a little disconcerting to play in due to its quaint environment, and Bournemouth have used that to get an edge.

Although Bournemouth won’t have Daniels, I see Fraser leading the way in a Bournemouth win. Both of Crystal Palace’s Premier League wins have come on the road, but the victory over Fulham was more a matter of the Cottagers missing great chances and Huddersfield just struggles no matter where they play.

The Cherries are not plagued with the offensive issues that have affected similar clubs, and they have 10 goals through six matches. I see them finding the back of the net twice in a narrow win.
