Namajunas said this to mmanews.com about her upcoming fight against Fiorot, “I had gotten a lot of fight offers since taking time off. That was the first time where I was like, That sounds interesting. Manon, I think her just as an opponent is exciting too. She's a true martial artist. She's not just a fighter or an athlete... I remember watching her... I was like, 'She's pretty badass. She has some real striking skills, and I like girls that can strike. Her karate background and her style... even her little attitude, her little whole swagger; that's something that brings out the competitor in me, and I love that.”

Erin Blanchfield said this to mmamania.com about the upcoming fight between Fiorot and Namajunas, “I think Manon wins, but I don’t really care who I fight out of those two. I just think that Manon is a little bit bigger of a girl. Rose is coming up (to Flyweight), and she’s someone that I don’t think really had a hard time making 115, so I think the jump to 125 will be pretty rough. You know, she’s a great fighter, but Manon is going to be taller and lankier. I just don’t see Rose winning that fight.”

UFC Picks

This is a tough fight to call because we have two main questions to answer. Have the skills of Namajunas fallen to the point where she is now an underdog against a relatively untested fighter? Second, is Fiorot really good enough to warrant a future title shot? She hasn’t done anything wrong, but are wins against Chookagian and Maia enough to put her into the top realm? Since I don’t have good answers to either of those questions, I’ll avoid a side and look at the total. The rounds are listed at 2.5 with the over at -200. For me this fight really comes down to whether or not Fiorot can keep this fight standing. If so, and Fiorot has been very good with her takedown defense, then this fight probably goes to a decision. I’ll go over the rounds total in this fight.
