Maia said this to quintoquartobr.com about her upcoming fight against Chookagian, “I've matured a lot from the other fight for today, and I’ve already gone through the toughest opponent in the division who is the champion. So, I just have to let go of my game and impose myself all the time during the fight, not giving space to the opponent. I look at every fight as the most important fight, so my total focus is to have a great fight coming out victorious in this fight and then I think about what's ahead.”

UFC Picks

These two met at UFC 244 and it was Chookagian winning a unanimous decision. It is hard to see anything other than a similar outcome this time around. Chookagian simply landed more strikes and did more damage in their first fight and she used her height and reach advantage throughout the fight. The only real chance for Maia is to find a way to get inside and get Chookagian on the ground. The key in this fight is Chookagian stuffing Maia’s takedown attempts. If that happens then Chookagian is going to get this win. I am not thrilled about laying almost 2-1 on Chookagian but that seems to be the best option. I do think you could hedge a little bit and try and get a big price on Maia winning by submission. You can get almost 12-1 on that prop and that would definitely be a nice return if Maia pulled off the upset. Taking Chookagian to win and then hedging with Maia winning by submission is the strategy for this fight.
