UFC Picks

We have a decision to make in this fight. We can go with the more experienced fighter in Sherman who has struggled for the most part in the UFC, or we can go with the less experienced fighter in Porter who has fought just twice in the UFC. Oddsmakers believe that the experience of Sherman will be the difference, as Sherman is listed as a -205 favorite. Oddsmakers don’t expect this fight to last long, as they set the rounds option at 1.5. It is a little surprising that the over is favored on the rounds at -170, while the under is +135. Neither of these two fighters goes the distance that often, as only six times in a combined 39 fights has a fight gone the distance.

Perhaps the experience of Sherman will be the difference, but I have a hard time laying 2-1 on a fighter with a losing record in the UFC. I also can’t get too excited about taking Porter with his limited experience. That means looking at the rounds for our best bet.

Both of these fighters are finishers and even though the rounds is listed at 1.5, I still think there is value on the under. Sherman is a fighter who finishes fights and finishes them quickly. 12 of his 15 wins have ended in the first round and he has six wins in 63 seconds or less. Parker isn’t afraid to trade shots, so this fight should end quickly. I will go under 1.5 rounds at plus money.
