Ige came into the UFC with a record of 8-1 and he has seven wins and two losses in the UFC. He is 4-1 in his last five fights. He is coming off a knockout win against Gavin Tucker in March. Ige los a unanimous decision to Calvin Kattar in July of last year, won a split decision against Edson Barboza in May of last year, won a split decision against Mirsad Bektic in February of last year and won a unanimous decision against Kevin Aguilar in June of 2019. Ige has been a pro since 2014 and he has four wins by TKO/KO and five by submission. He has six first round finishes.

Ige said that a win against Jung will get him to the next level. “It’s the fight that’s going to propel me to the next level,” Ige said to the media, “It’s the fight that’s going to put me into the top five. It’s going to put me into that title contention range, and ‘The Korean Zombie’ is a legend. So I want to face household names like ‘Zombie,’ (Edson) Barboza. I want to have these guys on my resume, and ‘The Korean Zombie’ is a guy I watched forever.”

I think Jung is a bit overrated, as I think his reputation is better than his skill. That is not to say Jung is not a good fighter, but he is not a headliner. I don’t know that Ige is a headliner either, but he has definitely looked good lately, winning four of his last five. We know that almost all of Jung’s fights end in a finish and Ige has already said he expects a fight full of fireworks. I will simply take this fight to go under the rounds total of 4.5.
