UFC Picks

Battle is listed as a -170 favorite in UFC odds and the rounds are listed at 2.5 with the over at -210. Battle has ten wins in his career with five of those wins coming by submission. While Battle does have some submission wins, I am still not impressed with his skills on the mat. He only takes down his opponents on 25% of his attempts and that is simply not good enough to be considered a serious threat on the ground. Battle would be well served in this fight if he could get the fight to the mat, but Loosa is excellent at takedown defense, so that may not happen. Loosa should be looking to keep this fight standing and see if he can get the fight into a striking battle. I don’t know that Battle will do much to counter that strategy so this should be a fight that remains standing.

I don’t see much separating these two fighters, yet the odds have Battle a solid favorite. I don’t see it, as I think the odds should be closer to a pick. There is some value in taking Loosa at the plus price.

While Loosa could be a live dog, I think the rounds option is the better choice. I know that Battle said he is looking forward to getting a finish, I just don’t see it happening. Loosa is not that great on the mat and while Battle has gotten better with his submission skills, I don’t see him getting a submission. I think this fight turns into a striking battle that goes the distance, so I will go over the rounds total.
