Tsarukyan said this to mmanews.com about his upcoming fight against Gamrot, “He’s a very good fight for me. He’s a ranked guy. He is confident, he doesn’t scare. He is like me, he is man, and he wants to fight with everybody. But he knows I am a very bad matchup for him. I have a lot more experience than him in the UFC… (His last) three fights, he beat easy (opponents).”

Tsarukyan also said this to lowking.pl about his upcoming fight against Gamrot, Everyone says he has good supplies, good grappling, that he fights to the end, that he is a guy with character. We are prepared for it. I think my stand-up collar and wrestling are better than his. The only thing is that he can fight from both positions - right-handed and left-handed - and I only fight right-handed. He is very clever in fights, he changes the position. Has good descents to one leg, but is not at my level. Neither wrestling nor standing up. Yes, he knows how to fight long distances, ending with cuts. However, I can also fight to the end and I don't get cut. I will go out to this fight with a very responsible attitude. I know I will win. I will outclass him.

Mateusz Gamrot (20-1, 3-1 UFC)

UFC Picks

Tsarukyan is listed as more than a 2-1 favorite in UFC odds to win this fight. I think Tsarukyan should be favored, but I am not sure he should be listed at more than 2-1. Tsarukyan looks to be the better fighter, but I don’t know that I agree with Tsarukyan saying he has fought better competition. Neither of these fighters has fought anyone to get excited about. I do think that Tsarukyan has the right idea about the fight, however. These two fighters are not known as great finishers and this fight has all the looks of one that goes the distance. Oddsmakers agree, as they have set the rounds at 4.5. I’ll take the rounds to go over the total.
