Arlovski has seemingly been around forever, as he is now 42 years old. He is not among the best heavyweights any longer, but he is still an intelligent fighter with some skills. He has actually won three of his last four fights, so he can’t be discounted.

Felipe has looked good of late with three straight wins, but whether he can handle Arlovski is the question. This is simply a fight that Felipe can’t afford to lose if he wants to move up in the heavyweight division.

One thing we do know about Arlovski of late is that his ability to finish is pretty much gone. Each of his last seven wins have gone to a decision. Felipe’s last three wins have all gone to a decision, so he hasn’t really proven he can finish capable fighters and we know that Arlovski is a solid fighter.

This fight has all the looks of a bout that goes to a decision. Arlovski simply doesn’t have the skills any longer to get a finish and Felipe hasn’t shown that he has a lot of finishing power. I would lean slightly to Felipe in this fight but he still has a lot to prove and Arlovski is no slouch. I think the best option is to simply take this fight to go to a decision. You have a couple of options here, as you could take the fight to go to a decision at odds of -160 or you could bet the rounds to go over 2.5 at -200. I don’t think the higher price of -200 is worth the extra two and a half minutes, so I will simply lay the -160 and expect the fight to go to a decision.
