Cooper said this to bjpenn.com about her upcoming fight against Yoder, “Ashley Yoder was in the TUF house with me so I feel very confident in defeating her. As I know her strengths and weaknesses better than a normal opponent and I think it’s a great matchup for me. Ashley is a southpaw which I love, she’s not very dangerous anywhere. She is coming off three losses in a row. I think I can beat her anywhere. I think Ashley is going to try to strike in the first round and then when it’s not going her way she’s going to dive for takedowns. I’m going to defend her takedowns and she’s going to lose all her confidence and she’s going to gas out in the second and that’s when I will beat her.”

UFC Picks

Cooper is a good athlete and when she wins she overwhelms her opponents physically. When she can’t do that her skills are not good enough to win. Yoder has some decent skills on the mat, but she doesn’t do much effective striking. Cooper has the edge when this fight is standing, but Yoder should have the edge on the mat. Yoder has yet to win in the UFC and yet oddsmakers have her favored. Oddsmakers usually know what they are doing and I will follow along and lay the small price and take Yoder in this bout.
