UFC 287: Pereira vs. Adesanya II Betting

Gilbert Burns (21-5, 14-5 UFC)

Burns came into the UFC with a record of 7-0 and he has 14 wins and five losses in the UFC. In his last six fights, he has four wins and two losses. He defeated Demian Maia by TKO, Tyron Woodley by unanimous decision, Stephen Thompson by unanimous decision, and Neil Magny by arm-triangle choke submission; while losing to Kamaru Usman by TKO and Khamzat Chimaev by unanimous decision. Burns has been a pro since 2012 and he has six wins by TKO/KO and nine by submission. He has 11 first round finishes.

Burns said this to mmanews.com about his upcoming fight against Masvidal, “Second home and second pay-per-view at home. First one in Rio in Brazil, now here in Miami. It's still going to be hostile territory. A lot of Cubans over there I think. He (Masvidal) grew up here, born and raised here. I think I'm going to get booed a little bit. But as the fight is going, I might steal the crowd back.”

Jorge Masvidal (35-16, 12-9 UFC)

Masvidal came into the UFC with a record of 23-7 and he has 12 wins and nine losses in the UFC. In his last six fights, he has three wins and three losses. He defeated Darren Till by KO, Ben Askren by KO, and Nate Diaz by TKO; while losing twice against Kamaru Usman with once by unanimous decision and once by KO, and losing to Colby Covington by unanimous decision. Masvidal has been a pro since 2003 and he has 16 wins by TKO/KO and two by submission. He has eight first round finishes.

Colby Covington said this to mmajunkie.usatoday.com about the upcoming fight between Burns and Masvidal, “Jorge is a broken man. He’s not the same fighter after I destroyed him; beat him 50-44 with a soda. Obviously, he’s had emotional letdown. His life is unraveling. Look at obviously what he came and did. The guy, he’s done a lot of drugs and just a lot of things that have rotted his brain and his body. You could tell he’s just not the same person. I just see ‘Dilbert’ (Burns) getting an easy win.”

UFC Picks

I don’t think there is much doubt about this fight, as Burns should get the win. The problem I have is the price, as I don’t lay -500 on anyone. Since I do think Burns will get the win, playing him to win by finish is really the only option and even then we still have to lay money. Perhaps the rounds are an option, as this looks like a fight that will see a finish, likely by Burns. The rounds total is listed at 2.5 with the under at -120, so our best option looks to be to take the fight to go under the rounds total.
