Usman said this to mmamania.com about his upcoming fight against Covington, “We’re going into the second fight with Colby now and I’m expecting the toughest Colby there’s been. Fighting a guy like Colby, you’d expect a lot of mutual respect because we’ve actually shared that Octagon for almost 25 minutes. He gets kind of a rep for the way that he behaves outside of the cage. I know he respects me, I know he does. He might not want to show it but I know he does. And I’ve a lot of respect for him as well. I think he’s a great competitor, I think he’s very, very tough, but the wisdom that I’ve acquired in this last year alone kind of trumps everything he has done.”

UFC Picks

When these two fought the first time it was a great fight that ended in the fifth round with Usman winning by TKO. I think Usman is the better fighter but I have a lot of respect for Covington and I am not laying the 3-1 price on Usman. There may be some value on Covington at the big price but I think the better bet is the rounds. These two slugged it out the first time and the fight eventually ended with a TKO. I don’t think this fight will be any different and the odds on the fight going the distance are basically a pick. I’ll say the fight doesn’t go to a decision as the best bet for this fight.
