UFC 228 Betting at BookMaker.eu

Charles Byrd (10-4, 1-0 UFC)

Byrd came into the UFC with a record of 9-4 and he won his UFC debut against John Phillips by submission in March of 2018. His four losses were against Donyiell Winrow by DQ, Marcelo Azevedo by submission, Derrick Krantz by submission, and Bojan Velickovic by unanimous decision. Byrd has been a pro since 2009 and has three wins by TKO/KO and five by submission. He has seven first round finishes.

Darren Stewart (8-3, 1-3 UFC)

Stewart came into the UFC with a record of 7-0 and he has one win and three losses in the UFC. He defeated Eric Spicely by TKO; while losing to Francimar Barroso by unanimous decision, Karl Roberson by submission, and Julian Marquez by submission. Stewart has been a pro since 2014 and has six wins by TKO/KO. He has four first round finishes.

Stewart said this to bloodyelbow.com about his upcoming fight against Byrd, “Charles is a very good fighter and he reminds me a lot of me, when I first came to the UFC; just the stuff he does. He’s good, very explosive, but he rushes things a lot — which used to be me. He’s going to do the same thing as Spicely, in trying to take me down. The only difference is he’s got a bit more striking than Spicely, but he’s going to try and take me down. And that’s not going to happen. I take my time. I just see a lot of early me in him, that’s not a bad thing, but I reckon I’m just a much more evolved fighter than him. I reckon he’s just going to be explosive in the first round, but after that it’s game over.”

UFC Predictions

Even though Byrd has fought only once in the UFC, I think he has a better chance to win than Stewart who is just 1-3 in the UFC. I also think that Stewart is overconfident in what he can do. I will lay the price and take Byrd in this fight.
