The headline fight at UFC Fight Night 155, also known as UFC on ESPN+ 13 on Saturday night is a women’s bantamweight bout between former featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie and Aspen Ladd. The event also marks the return of Hall of Famer Urijah Faber who has not fought in more than two years after announcing his retirement. Germaine de Randamie is 8-3 in her career, including 5-1 in the UFC. She is 35 years old and has had some success in the UFC, although it is hard to get too excited about her wins. She defeated Julie Kedzie by split decision, lost to Amanda Nunes by first round TKO, beat Larissa Pacheco by TKO, defeated Anna Elmose by TKO, won a unanimous decision against Holly Holm and won a unanimous decision against Raquel Pennington. The wins against Holm and Pennington are probably the best wins for de Randamie, but Holm is more of a name than actually a good fighter and Pennington is nothing special.
Aspen Ladd is 8-0 in her career, including 3-0 in the UFC. Ladd started her career by fighting in Invicta and she was extremely impressive, winning all five of her bouts. She has fought three times in the UFC and gotten three good wins. She won by TKO against Lina Lansberg and Tonya Evinger and she won a unanimous decision against Sijara Eubanks.
There is no question that Invicta has been providing a lot of good fighters to the UFC. “Invicta has become basically the feeding ground basically for the UFC as far as women,” Ladd said to the media, “It’s not going to ever run dry because now we have that platform.” Ladd said that fighters who are in Invicta are “rising stars” and that Invicta is a big reason for the success of women in the UFC. “We wouldn’t have progressed as far or as fast as we have if Invicta wasn’t around,” Ladd said.

I think De Randamie is a bit overrated and that Ladd could be underrated. The oddsmakers agree, as Ladd is listed as the favorite in this fight. Ladd could be a fighter that continues to get marquee matchups, as she has a dominating style and is known as a finisher and there is no reason to think she can’t finish de Randamie in this bout. I’ll go with Ladd to get the win and also take the rounds to go under the total.
