NHL Betting Odds

The Montreal Canadiens are in a fight with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Philadelphia Flyers for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot and will face a tough task in at game at the New York Islanders. The defending Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals are also up against it at the red-hot Philadelphia Flyers. The Winnipeg Jets will host the Boston Bruins in what could be a preview of the Stanley Cup Final. And the San Jose Sharks will be hosting a pesky Florida Panthers team at the Shark Tank in an intriguing Thursday night cap.

The Let’s take a look at the best bets for Thursday in the NHL!

Montreal Canadiens vs. New York Islanders, 7 p.m. ET

Montreal is 17-15-3 on the road and will be facing an Islanders team that struggles to light the lamp. In fact, New York ranks 20th in the NHL for goal scoring and 26th for the power play. Montreal has been dominant in their head to head series with the Islanders. For example, the Canadiens have paid in 14 of their last 18 games against New York with three of the last five between these teams going over the total. And on road ice the Habs have had no problem maintaining profitability against the Isles. Montreal has paid in 15 of their last 20 visits to the Island. Just one of the last five games between these teams at New York went under the total.

Washington Capitals vs. Philadelphia Flyers, 7 p.m. ET

Although Washington is in good recent form their back end remains a concern. The Capitals rank 20th in the NHL for goals against and 22nd for the penalty kill. Philadelphia has struggled to keep pace with the Capitals in this head to head series. The Flyers have covered six of their last 16 meetings with Washington as five of the last six between these teams have gone over the total. However, the Caps have not been quite as profitable at the Wells Fargo Center. In fact, the Flyers have gotten the money in three of their last five home games against Washington. The last three meetings between these teams have gone over the total.

Boston Bruins vs. Winnipeg Jets, 8 p.m. ET

Winnipeg is one of the strongest home teams on the NHL board with a record of 22-8-3-1 on the season. The Jets are also the fifth highest scoring team in the league. Boston and Winnipeg have had a back and forth head to head series with each team winning four out of the last eight meetings. Just one of the last four in this matchup have gone under the total. But at Bell MTS place the Jets have taken three of their last four against the Bruins. Eight of the last 11 in this series with Boston on the road have gone under the total.

Florida Panthers vs. San Jose Sharks, 10:30 p.m. ET

San Jose has taken over the Pacific Division lead but still ranks a worrisome 18th in the NHL for goals against. That does not match up well against a Florida team ranked 10th in the NHL for goals against and second for the power play. Florida has held surprising value in their head to head series with San Jose. The Panthers have paid in three of their last four against the Sharks. And three of the last five between these teams have gone over the total. And most surprising of all is the fact that Florida has won six of their last seven visits to San Jose with three of the last five in this series at the Shark Tank going under the total.  Florida will be getting a big price in this one!
