PGA Tour Odds – The Masters Prop Bets

The Masters Prop Bets

Let’s just call this April Anarchy. The first golf major of the season brings out the best players in the world and there is no shortage of prop bets that follow for The Masters. There are, of course, the usual pick the winner and matchup bets, but the tradition like no other also brings out a host of wagering options. Think of this as the Super Bowl of golf, or the linkster’s March Madness, because at BookMaker.eu, that’s kind of what it is.

With Tiger Wood being a four-time Masters winner and the most polarizing figure in the game of golf, and possibly the entire sports universe, there is an entire section of props set aside just for the big cat. Let’s take a look at some of the prop bet options and find where you can make additional coin while wagering on The Masters.

Will the Par 3 Contest Winner go on to Win the Masters?

Yes +2500
No -6000

The par 3 contest is more for players to unwind prior to the rigors of a (hopefully!) 72-hole tournament. Nobody takes it seriously, and did you know that there has never been a Par 3 and Masters winner in the same year? Doubtful that’s going to change anytime soon.

Will an Albatross be Registered During the Masters?

Yes +1200
No -2500

Also known as the double-eagle, it’s the rarest score in all of golf. And since it can only be registered on a select number of holes, the odds of it happening are even more unlikely. But consider that we have a collection of the best golfers in the world and the par 5s at Augusta yield some of the lowest scores on Tour, I’m willing to go out on a limb and drop a few coins on someone achieving this rarity. After all, it wouldn’t be The Masters without some drama.

Will there be a Hole-in-One

Yes -143
No +112

The exhilaration of a hole-in-one has been prevalent at Augusta a whopping 29 times during the event’s history, and we’ve seen at least one ace in each of the last three playings. Three players aced the 16th hole in 2016, and Matt Kuchar did the same in 2017. Last year Charley Hoffman found the bottom of the cup on his tee offering. In fact we’ve seen half of the aces since 2003, that’s why there are negative odds for it happening again.

Will there be a Playoff

Yes +282
No -372

This actually happens more often than you might think. Over the course of the 83-year history of The Masters there have been 17 playoffs, which averages out to a little over 20 percent of the time. Since the 2003 playing of the event there have been six playoffs. The averages say it won’t happen this year, but the entire field of golfers has gotten better, which is why there have been so many extra holes played recently.

Will a Rookie Win the Masters?

Yes +1500
No -3850

Only three times and not since 1979 when Fuzzy Zoeller stunned the field has a first-year player won The Masters. The list also includes Horton Smith, who claimed the very first trophy back in 1934. Whoever won that inaugural event was going to be on this list, so technically there are only two first-timers, and oddsmakers aren’t excited about adding to that group. Quite frankly, neither am I with Mike Wallace, Eddie Pepperell and Lucas Bjerregaard among the debutants.

Is Tiger poised to break a tie with Arnold Palmer and win his fifth Masters title? His last victory came back in 2005 and he hasn’t been a serious contender for nearly a decade. Considering his lengthy title drought, it’s hard to imagine him winning outright, so take a peek at the prop bets listed for Woods at BookMaker.eu.
