ATT Pebble Beach Pro-Am Golf Odds

The PGA Tour moves up the California coast this week with Pebble Beach Golf Links playing host to its namesake event, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. And like The American Express a few weeks ago, we return to a familiar format. Once again three courses will be in play as will the pro-am format after things were shifted around last year due to COVID. The field will rotate between Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and Monterey Peninsula Country Club with the cut down field finishing up on the iconic Pebble Beach layout on Sunday. Reigning FedExCup champion Patrick Cantlay opened as the betting favorite and is the only golfer with shorter than 10/1 odds. He sits ahead of defending champion Daniel Berger and Will Zalatoris on the odds board. In all 10 of the world’s top-50 are scheduled to peg it up. Visit BookMaker.eu for a complete list of betting odds when you’re ready to place a wager.

Odds Analysis

Jason Day +1800

We saw a familiar course snap Day out of a slump and I’m banking on another run this week. Day played his way into the final group last week grabbing a podium finish at Torrey Pines. And he’s been even better over the years at Pebble Beach. Day has done everything but win at Pebble Beach going 12 for 12 with 10 top-15s. He finished T7 at last year’s edition and was runner-up in 2018. Now that his game is in a good place and he’s at a venue that’s been good to him over the years it could be his time to shine.

Maverick McNealy +2200

Another standout at Pebble Beach, though his body of work is much smaller than Day’s. Still, it’s hard to overlook what the Stanford product has done at this event. Two top-5s in as many starts is a good reason to seriously think about throwing down on McNealy. He was T5 in his debut two years ago and followed that with a runner-up showing in 2021. He’s also been consistent this season going 7 for 8 with a runner-up in Napa one of his four top-25s. McNealy is not only a threat for the outright he’s a strong play in alternate markets too.

Jordan Spieth +1800

Even during his struggles Spieth always had the magic at Pebble Beach. He emerged from a slump 12 months ago with a T4 at the Phoenix Open and followed that with a T3 at PB. The 2017 champ is 9 for 9 in this event with five top-10s. And I expect his knowledge and familiarity with the event to take over after his MC at the Farmers. Spieth is too good to ignore in the outright market.

Cameron Tringale +2500

It’s still early in the season but Tringale sits seventh in the FedExCup standings, the highest among non-winners. He improved his lot last week with a T3 at the Farmers, his second podium finish and third top-10 in his last five starts. He’s also played the final round here in seven of his last eight starts with a personal-best T7 last year.

Tom Hoge +6500

I deviated a bit from my usual value picks instead going with golfers listed higher on the odds board. So here I am going back to players with a potential huge payday. Hoge is an interesting choice, but one that come with plenty of upside. Runner-up two weeks ago at The American Express was his second top-4 in four starts. And he has a history at PB making every start since 2015 with a best of T12 last year.

Course: Pebble Beach Golf Links (host) – 6,972 yards, Par 72

To get 156 pros and their amateur partners through a full 18-hole day before darkness sets in requires three courses. World famous Pebble Beach Golf Links serves as host and those who make the cut will get two rounds on the iconic layout. At just under 7,000 yards it’s one of the shortest courses on Tour with wide open fairways that don’t pose a threat. Accuracy off the tee isn’t a problem, but approach shots have to find small greens that are surrounded by strategically placed bunkers. The Monterey Peninsula course also plays less than 7,000 yards and is regarded as the easiest of the three. The track surrenders more eagles than the others and plays par 71. Spyglass Hill is the toughest of the three with additional length stretching it to 7,041 yards. Playing along the coast can always be hazardous, but as of now it looks like the field will have ideal scoring conditions.
