Odds Analysis

Alexander Levy +1100

I know that Levy won last week and that he is the defending champion, but I almost never take a player to win in back-to-back weeks. Levy is definitely in great form and on paper he is tough to go against, but that is what I am doing, as I think he is overvalued.

Hao Tong Li +1400

I think Li should be listed as the favorite this week instead of Levy. Li won this event two years ago on this course and he played well last year finishing in a tie for 11th. He won the Dubai Desert Classic in January and he played pretty well at the Masters. He is my top choice this week.

Bernd Wiesberger +1600

I also like Wiesberger this week, as he has been very good in China in his career. He won the Shenzhen International last year and he was tied for 4th in this event. He has made the cut in all 14 of his previous tournaments in China. I think he has some value at these odds.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat +1600

I am not sure what to make of Kiradech this week, as he missed the cut in this event last year, but he did win in China in 2015. He has a couple of top five finishes this year and it would not be a shock to see him contend this week.

Joost Luiten +1800

Luiten has made all 15 of his cuts in China and he has seven finishes in the top 20. He is playing well of late and he ranked first in scrambling last week in Morocco. He could contend this week.

Paul Dunne +2200

Dunne was a popular pick last week and was a complete bust, as he missed the cut. He might just bounce back this week and play well and we do get some added value on him after his poor play last week.

Alexander Bjork +4000

Bjork played well in Morocco last week to tie for 3rd and he was coming off a second place finish in Hong Kong. It looks to be only a matter of time before he wins and it might be this week.

Jeung-Hun Wang +4000

Wang has played well in China in the past and he contended last week in Morocco for a long time before finishing in a tie for 13th. He could be a factor this week.

Jorge Campillo +4000

Campillo failed last week in the final round but he is still playing well and he likes this course in China. He could be a contender at a big price this week.

Mikko Ilonen +6600

I can’t forget about Ilonen who looked good last week in Morocco. He has played well in China in the past and I think he is a live longshot at these odds.

Course: Topwin is a par 72 that measures 7,261 yards. It was designed by Ian Woosnam and has played pretty easy. Scrambling has been a key statistic to consider on this course and driving accuracy has been of little importance. The greens at Topwin are Creeping Bengrass and there is water on almost every hole.
