Cazoo Classic Golf Odds - European Tour Betting

Cazoo Classic Golf Odds

The reincarnation of the English Open has the European Tour back in Kent, England just a short time after The Open Championship for the maiden Cazoo Classic. The tournament brings a close to the Tour’s UK Swing with several players looking to creep up the Ryder Cup points list. One of those players is betting favorite Bernd Wiesberger. The eight-time ET winner has never won on English soil, but a good showing this week improves his status as an automatic Ryder Cup team qualifier. Wiesberger opened as the only player with shorter than 20/1 odds. Visit BookMaker.eu for a complete list of betting odds when you’re ready to place a wager.

Odds Analysis

Sean Crocker +5000

It’s been an up and down season for Crocker with some nice results sandwiched around disappointing finishes. There are parts of his game that should play well on this course, though. He can take advantage of the generous fairways with his distance off the tee and he’s been accurate with his approach play. And his numbers back that up so he shouldn’t have a problem creating scoring chances. He grabbed a top-10 in the Irish Open last month and was T11 in the European Open prior to that, so he certainly has the game to succeed on this course.

Calum Hill +2800

After a few disappointing finishes Hill showed why a lot of folks are high on his talent with a T4 at the Hero Open. He opened with a 63 but couldn’t maintain that level play – who can? – to drop down the leaderboard. Still, it was a promising effort to finish 20-under. Hill hasn’t been able to put it all together with one bad round being his demise. A closing 79 in the Cazoo Open destroyed any chance he had and he finished with a 76 in the Scottish Open. He should at least be confident after four sub-par rounds last week.

Wilco Nienaber +6600

His ability to hit the ball a great distance is appealing on this layout and worth the risk for a hefty payout. He can drive the par-4s setting up scoring opportunities and back at this level he should feel more comfortable. He wasn’t far off the pace in the Palmetto Championship competing against a strong field and he won in May on the Challenge Tour so we know he has the goods.

Vincent Norrman +2800

It’s hard not to notice what Norrman has accomplished recently and the betting markets are catching up. With four top-15s in his five ET starts this season, Norrman has made a splash. His best finish came in the strongest field with a T5 in the BMW Open when he topped the field in strokes gained: tee to green. He’s also among the best on Tour in that category this season proving that it’s a strong part of his game and an area that should serve him well this week.

Bernd Wiesberger +1600

I don’t often back the betting favorite, but Wiesberger has a lot going for him this week. Not only is he the most accomplished player in the field, he’s also looking to amass enough points to automatically qualify for his Ryder Cup debut. Under normal circumstances we probably wouldn’t see the Austrian in an event like this but having him compete shows how motivated he is. And the Ryder Cup is something he longs for.

Course: London Golf Club – 7,327 yards, Par 72

The Heritage Course at London Golf Club returns to the Euro Tour rotation for the first time since 2014 boasting a long history of hosting prestigious tournaments. The European Open played here in 2008 and 2009 and the Volvo World Match Play was contested at LGC in 2014. The Jack Nicklaus-designed layout measures over 7,300 yards at par 72 and features plenty of water. Generous fairways are tempting to big hitters, but the well-protected greens make accurate approach play a necessity. Toss in the water hazards and most players will take a cautious approach. There are a few holes where golfers can definitely go for it. Three reachable par-5s and a relatively short par-4 dot the layout and the weather is expected to be calm, at least for this area.
