NFL Week 17 Ugly Dog Picks - NFL Betting Odds

NFL Week 17 Ugly Dog Picks

Are you ready for another week of ugly dog picks in the NFL? We are coming off a 2-3 record last week that takes the season record to 37-30-2 ATS. Some of the best bets in the NFL each week are oftentimes wagers on teams that are considered the worst in the league. If you want to win money betting NFL games then you need to be willing to take teams no one else wants to bet. We refer to these teams as ugly dogs and you really have to hold your nose sometimes when you bet on them, but history has shown that going against the public works. We have a lot more games than normal this week, as we have seven games to look at.

Let’s look at the NFL Week 17 Ugly Dog picks.

Week 17 Ugly Dog Picks

Let me point out one fact that you are probably already aware of. When you bet these games, you are usually better off waiting until Sunday morning to make your wagers because you will probably get a better number than what I list from earlier in the week.

Tennessee Titans +10 vs. Dallas Cowboys

You can make a case that right now the Titans look as ugly as any team in the NFL. They couldn’t even beat the hapless Houston Texans last week and now they are catching 10 points at home this week from Dallas. This game really means nothing to Tennessee, as win or lose it all comes down to next week against Jacksonville, but the Titans definitely need to start playing better. We’ll take the Titans as an ugly dog.

New Orleans Saints +7 at Philadelphia Eagles

The Saints are technically still alive for the NFC South title but they would need a lot of help to win the division. The Saints face a difficult road test this week against a Philadelphia team trying to wrap up the top seed in the NFC. The Eagles nearly beat Dallas last week even without starting quarterback Jalen Hurts. This looks like a bad spot for the Saints, but we take New Orleans as an ugly dog.

Arizona Cardinals +4 at Atlanta Falcons

The Cardinals look hopeless right now on offense with Trace McSorley under center and we could be seeing the last two games with Kliff Kingsbury as head coach of Arizona. Things are not much better on the Atlanta side, as they have quarterback problems of their own. We’ll take the Cardinals as an ugly dog.

Chicago Bears +6 at Detroit Lions

The Bears have been a mess all season and although everyone gets all excited about Justin Fields, he makes more mistakes than he does big plays. The Lions had their playoff destiny in their own hands last week but couldn’t find a way to beat Carolina and now the Lions need help to make the playoffs. This looks like a game that Detroit should win, so we take the Bears as an ugly dog.

Denver Broncos +13.5 at Kansas City Chiefs

The Broncos are a complete dumpster fire right now, as they just fired head coach Nathaniel Hackett. The team can’t do the same to Russell Wilson as they are stuck paying him a ton of money. The Broncos can’t be any worse than they were last week in a humiliating loss to the Rams. It may not get much better this week against a potent Kansas City offense. This one is ugly, as we take the Broncos plus the points.

Indianapolis Colts +6 at New York Giants

Another team that is a complete mess right now is Indianapolis, as they have all kinds of problems on offense. The switch to Nick Foles at quarterback didn’t work last week but it isn’t all on Foles, as the offensive line is awful and he had very little prep time. He should be better this week against the Giants. New York can clinch a playoff spot with a win in this game, but nothing has come easy for the Giants this season. We’ll take the Colts as an ugly dog.

Houston Texans +4.5 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Texans came through for us last week as an ugly dog against Tennessee and we take them again this week against the Jaguars. Jacksonville will have to avoid looking ahead to next week’s huge game against Tennessee and perhaps that is why the line is so short. We take the Texans as an ugly dog.

Las Vegas Raiders +6 vs. San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are scoring hot and look like they could be the best team in the NFC. The Raiders continue to struggle on both sides of the ball and it is obvious that Josh McDaniels would have been better suited to stay as an offensive coordinator rather than a head coach. The Raiders look ugly right now and that is the point as we take the Raiders as an ugly dog.
