Denver Broncos Season Win Total Betting

At long last, the Denver Broncos have their quarterback. John Elway has been trying to land the Broncos their new franchise quarterback ever since Peyton Manning retired, and Denver finally has its man in Russell Wilson. After trying and failing with Paxton Lynch, Drew Lock, Joe Flacco, and about a half-dozen others, the Broncos finally have a bonafide winner under center now. This franchise hasn’t been able to make it to the playoffs since winning Super Bowl 50 over Carolina, but the Broncos are expected to return to the postseason this year.

Denver Broncos Offense

Russell Wilson was the starting quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks for 10 seasons and made the Pro Bowl nine times. Although he is in his 30s, he still has plenty of good football left in his future, and so the Broncos had to give up a bevy of picks and players in order to acquire him. Denver traded Drew Lock, Noah Fant, Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks to Seattle in order to acquire Wilson, but this offense should immediately be one of the best in the NFL now.

The Broncos have ranked in the bottom ten in scoring offense for six straight seasons. They should rank in the top ten this season as Wilson has a lot of weapons to work with at every position even though Denver did trade away Fant.

Javonte Williams showed a lot of promise as a rookie, and he should receive more carries in his second season in the Mile High City. Melvin Gordon III is an elite backup considering he would start for several teams in the league, and the left side of the offensive line is strong with Garett Bolles and Dalton Risner.

These receivers should be extremely productive with Wilson throwing them the ball. Courtland Sutton was a 1,000-yard receiver in 2019 before he was hurt, and Jerry Jeudy is one of the top breakout candidates of the 2022 campaign. Tim Patrick has been much better than anyone anticipated as an undrafted free agent, and K.J. Hamler could be a solid player too if he stays healthy.

The pieces are in place for this offense to be one of the best in the NFL in 2022. Denver hasn’t had an elite offense since 2014, and the Broncos should immediately rise out of the cellar of the AFC West.

Denver Broncos Defense

This franchise struck gold in last year’s draft with the selection of Patrick Surtain II. He was taken out of Alabama with the No. 9 overall pick, and Surtain immediately became one of the premier cornerbacks in the league. His ability to shut down one side of the field should make this defense better in 2022, as Ronald Darby is a solid veteran corner alongside Surtain and Kareem Jackson is a good safety.

The front seven is largely bereft of playmakers outside of Bradley Chubb. Denver selected Chubb with the No. 5 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, and he had a fantastic rookie season with 12 sacks. However, he has yet to match that production as injuries have slowed him to the point where he has just 8.5 sacks in 25 games over his last three seasons. Chubb is in the last year of his rookie contract, and it’s now or never for him.

Prediction

Denver should be a playoff team in 2022. The offense is going to be one of the best ones in the NFL, but the question is whether or not the defense can hang in a loaded AFC West. Ten wins seem spot on from the oddsmakers, and it could fluctuate depending on the play of Chubb and the secondary.
