Week 12 College Football Sensational Six Home Dog Parlay Time

Week 12 offers six very live home dogs that could not only deliver the bacon but also win their games straight up. We have six teams that will have various motivational and situational advantages in a classic case of timing being everything. And in one of our parlay picks we have a resurgent program that should actually be favored against an opponent that is in clear decline. Adding to all of this is that all of our teams are playing their final home games of the year. Which means that seniors will want to leave with the best possible taste in their mouths. Let’s take a look at this weekend’s Sensational Six Home Dog Parlay!

SMU Mustangs +8 vs. Memphis Tigers

Under the leadership of first year coach Sonny Dykes the Mustangs have caught fire and are one of the hottest teams on the board. Not only has SMU won five of their last seven games both straight up and against the spread but the Mustangs have the inside track to win the American Athletic Conference West Division. Don’t forget this is a Friday night ESPN2 matchup!

Illinois Fighting Illini +16 vs. Iowa Hawkeyes

Seriously? The punchless inept Hawkeyes are laying 16 points to ANYHONE on the road? Iowa has lost and failed to cover their last three games and has an offense that has become a joke. Last week Iowa was rendered helpless by a decent but hardly dominant Northwestern Wildcats team in a 14-10 home loss that ended their Big Ten West title hopes. Illinois last home game was a 55-31 win over Minnesota.

Minnesota Golden Gophers +3 vs. Northwestern Wildcats

Speaking of Northwestern their ticket is punched for the Big Ten Championship Game in three weeks. However, the Wildcats have covered the spread in just five out of their ten games and rank a dismal 127th in the country for scoring offense. Minnesota snapped back to life last week with an impressive 41-10 home win over a solid Purdue Boilermakers team and can attain bowl eligibility with a win.

Tennessee Volunteers +5 vs. Missouri Tigers

Tennessee is quietly improving under first year head coach Jeremy Pruitt. Last week the Volunteers caught attention with a 24-7 home payout over the Kentucky Wildcats as five-point dogs. Mizzou clinched bowl eligibility last week but remains defensively challenged. Tennessee’s defense is rapidly rising and will not make it easy on Drew Lock and the Tigers. The Vols have paid in four of their last six games. It has taken a while for the Vols to get in gear for Pruitt but they are now playing hard and effective. Mizzou barely beat a mediocre Vanderbilt team at home last week.

Oklahoma State Cowboys +5 vs. West Virginia Mountaineers

Oklahoma State suffered their annual Bedlam heartbreak last week in a 48-47 loss at the Oklahoma Sooners in which their try for the game winning two-point conversion failed. The Pokes rank 11th in the country for total offense and will be playing for bowl eligibility. Further, Oklahoma State has won and covered their last three meetings with West Virginia. The Mounties may also be peaking head to their showdown with the Oklahoma Sooners at home next week.

Nebraska Cornhuskers +1.5 vs. Michigan State Spartans

Nebraska is a team to keep an eye on. While they will not be going to a bowl this year, they are likely to open as the 2019 favorites to win the Big Ten West Division. The Huskers are finally taking to first year head coach Scott Frost and giving him the full buy-in that was missing at the start of the season. Nebraska has won and covered three of their last four games and has climbed to 14th in the country for total offense. Few teams can match Michigan State’s level of offensive ineptitude. Sparty ranks 112th in the country for total offense and 119th for scoring offense. True freshman quarterback Adrian Martinez is emerging as a sensation for the Big Red.
