The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs are heavily favored on Saturday, as they visit the Tennessee Volunteers on CBS. Georgia is 9-0 SU and 6-3 ATS, while Tennessee is 5-4 SU and 4-5 ATS. Georgia is coming off a blowout win over Missouri last week, while Tennessee outscored Kentucky. The Bulldogs have the top defense in the country, while the Volunteers have one of the best offenses in the nation, so this should be an interesting matchup. Odds Analysis

The line has been moving toward Tennessee in this contest. The Bulldogs opened as a 22.5-point favorite in some spots, and the number is down to 20. The Volunteers have an offense that might be able to challenge the Georgia defense and this is a lot of points to be laying on the road.

Georgia Bulldogs

The Bulldogs are averaging 38.4 points per game which is 14th-best in the country. They are historically good on defense, as they are giving up just 6.6 points per game, 1st in the nation. Georgia is the first team since Alabama in 1992 to hold each of their first eight opponents to less than 14 points. They are giving up just 232.4 yards per game. Zamir White leads the team with 519 rushing yards, while Stetson Bennett has thrown for 1,412 yards and Brock Bowers leads the team with 493 receiving yards.

Head coach Kirby Smart has led the Bulldogs to four straight wins against Tennessee, winning those games by an average margin of nearly 30 points per contest. Georgia actually trailed 21-17 last season at the half before rallying to win 44-21.

Tennessee Volunteers

Tennessee is averaging 38.2 points per game, 15th- best in the country and they giving up 28.2 points per game. Quarterback Hendon Hooker leads the team in rushing with 574 yards and he has thrown for 1,861 yards. Velus Jones Jr. leads the team with 522 receiving yards. Tennessee has a fast-paced offense that plays at the second-fastest speed of any team in the country. Hooker has thrown 19 TDs and thrown just one interception. He has also rushed for four TDs.

Georgia Bulldogs vs. Tennessee Volunteers Prediction

These teams met last year at Georgia and it was the Bulldogs winning 44-21. This year’s game could be very similar to last year’s contest in terms of the score. The Bulldogs are going to score a lot of points because Tennessee’s defense simply isn’t very good. The question in this one is how well the Tennessee offense will do against the Georgia defense. The Georgia defense is great, but Tennessee is good enough to put some points on the board. I don’t think they are good enough to keep pace with Georgia’s offense, but 20 points is a lot to be laying on the road. I lean toward Georgia, but I think the better play is the total. I think Georgia is going to have a field day against Tennessee’s defense and I think the Volunteers will score more than any other team has this season against Georgia. I will go over the total on Saturday.
