League of Legends 2020 LEC Summer Split Week 2 Preview

League of Legends 2020 LEC Summer Split Week 2 Preview

We saw some very surprising results in the first week of the LEC Summer Split. Defending champions G2 Esports were stunned by both Origen and Team Vitality, and they were heavy favorites in both of those games. Origen went on to lose to SK Gaming and Misfits Gaming, so there are some real questions about those two teams after the first three games of the season. There are no questions about Fnatic currently after their 3-0 start, but they will have to take on MAD Lions and Origen this week.

League of Legends 2020 LEC Summer Split Week 2 Betting Odds

Rogue -235

Team Vitality +183

Both these teams have had an excellent start to the season. Vitality has already matched its win total in the spring, and the changes they made to their roster are looking inspired. Milica was fantastic taking Jayce into the mid lane, and he was responsible for a whopping 32.5 percent of his team’s damage in the first three games. Nji was very good in the jungle, and Labrov was solid in support with fellow Greek bottom laner Comp.

Rogue were even more impressive, and they are tied with Fnatic at 3-0. This team has more talent than Vitality, but we don’t know if they have fixed their draft problems yet as the three teams they defeated in Week 1 might be the three worst teams in Europe. Given that fact, the underdog is the play here.

Misfits Gaming -180

SK Gaming +143

The addition of Kobbe looked to really help Misfits in spite of a 1-2 start. Both those losses came against the EU’s two undefeated teams (Rogue and Fnatic), yet Kobbe still has a 7.0 KDA through three games despite his team’s performance.

SK turned a lot of heads by going 2-1 in the first week, but there is a reason they are a prohibitive underdog here. There isn’t a standout player on this team, and there’s no place where you would say they have a definitive advantage over Misfits. Lay the chalk with the favorite.

G2 Esports -630

FC Schalke 04 +421

It’s tough to lay this much chalk with any team early in the season, but this may be the best spot to bet G2 Esports. G2 are known for taking games off, and while they didn’t appear to do that in Week 1, they have to re-center after starting the season 1-2. This is the most talented team in Europe by a mile, and G2 has a massive talent edge over Schalke. Schalke needs to play through the bottom lane to win, but Nukes isn’t a great support, and Jankos should make his presence felt early.

Origen -375

Excel Esports +277

The most disappointing team through the first week of the LEC season was Excel Esports. Four of their five members have a KDA under 1.0, and Special and Kryze had a really tough time in the mid lane and top lane. It can be difficult to lay a lot of juice with Origen, but this team doesn’t lose matches like this one. Origen will use its superior to control to slowly smother Excel.

Fnatic -235

MAD Lions +183

This is the most intriguing game of the day. Fnatic looked strong in Week 1, as Rekkles has yet to die. He was superb on Syndra in the bottom lane, and if he can effectively play mages in lane, that could lead to Fnatic challenging G2 for supremacy in the region. The Lions shrugged off their loss to G2 with victories over Excel or SK, but Fnatic are multiple tiers above those teams.
