League of Legends 2020 LCS Summer Split Week 2 Preview

League of Legends 2020 LCS Summer Split Week 2 Preview

The chalk largely held up in the first week of the 2020 LCS Summer Split. Cloud9 picked up right where they left off in the spring, and Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid also went unbeaten through their first two games. There is still a chasm between Cloud9 and everyone else, but the latter two teams are looking to close the gap. Team SoloMid was the other team expected to challenge, yet they need to go back to the drawing board after getting blasted by Team Liquid in their first game.

League of Legends 2020 LCS Summer Split Week 2 Betting Odds

Friday

Golden Guardians -145

Counter Logic Gaming +115

We saw some impressive play out of the Golden Guardians in the first week of the season. Damonte looked great on Ekko in the mid lane, and Huhi was sharp in two games on Thresh. The same can’t be said for Counter Logic Gaming who were perfect gamed by Liquid in their first game, but they followed that up with a win over Immortals thanks to a hard carry performance from longtime AD Carry Stixxay in the bottom lane. The Guardians don’t have a great bottom lane, but they are the play at this price given their advantages elsewhere.

Team SoloMid -290

Immortals +221

There was plenty of laughter across the LCS following TSM’s crushing loss to Liquid in Week 1. TSM revamped its roster by acquiring Doublelift and parting ways with Dardoch, but they looked a step behind their rival. The play of top laner Broken Blade and jungler Spica was particularly concerning. Broken Blade could only muster a 19.2% kill percentage and Spica had a 51.9% mark and did less than 10 percent of his team’s damage.

TSM should right the ship against an Immortals team that could be the worst in the league, while a loss would lead to more derision and alarm bells being sounded internally.

Saturday

Team Liquid -170

100 Thieves +135

You have to feel for the Thieves. They didn’t play poorly the first week, but they are 0-2 because they took on Cloud9 and Evil Geniuses. 100 Thieves will now face another one of the top teams when they take on Liquid, and it will be difficult for them to get the win here too.

Maybe the problem for Liquid was Doublelift. Tactical was superb last week, posting a 22 KDA while dishing out 42.6 percent of his team’s damage in two games on Aphelios, and Broxah shined in two games on Trundle. Liquid didn’t show too much in their 2-0 week, as Impact, Broxah, and Tactical all played the same champions, so they have the advantage this week.

Team SoloMid -145

FlyQuest +115

FlyQuest have the potential to take advantage of TSM’s shortcomings. Although Doublelift has long gotten the better of WildTurtle in the bottom lane, PowerOfEvil has surpassed Bjergsen in terms of mid laners. and Santorin is a much better jungler than Spica. Solo has played well in the top lane since supplanting V1per in that role in the spring, so FlyQuest are a live dog at this price.

Cloud9 -265

Evil Geniuses +204

These League of Legends betting odds speak to just how much better C9 is than everyone else. Evil Geniuses were just as impressive as C9 in the first week, yet they are a heavy underdog. While C9 might have the advantage at every position, the gap in the mid lane and bottom lane isn’t that wide, so I like the Geniuses at these odds. This might be the time they bring Huni off the bench and into the top lane too, as he has likely been working on a few pocket picks.

Counter Logic Gaming -145

Dignitas +115

Neither one of these teams looks to be too impressive, so take the underdog in this situation.
