2022 League of Legends LPL Spring Split Week 1 Betting

After two months without competitive League of Legends in the major regions, we will see the Spring Split start up across the world over the next two weeks. Due to the LPL’s popularity and the league having 17 teams, it will start a few days before the rest of the regions. The first couple days of the first week will see two highly anticipated matchups as Royal Never Give Up will face FunPlus Phoenix and EDward Gaming will take on JD Gaming.

2022 League of Legends LPL Spring Split Week 1 Betting Odds

Oh My God -388

ThunderTalk Gaming +264

OMG turned it around last summer after a dismal performance in the spring. They went 9-7 in the Summer Split before getting routed by Team WE in the first round of the playoffs. The addition of mid laner Crème and bottom laner Able helped them out tremendously, and they brought those players back along with long-time support COLD and jungler Aki. Top lane is a bit of a question, but they are deserved favorites against ThunderTalk Gaming.

Former OMG top laner New would love to knock off his old team as one of the newest members of TT Gaming. This organization made moves to get out of the cellar after a dismal 2-14, but it will take some time for this team to develop chemistry.

Royal Never Give Up -251

FunPlus Phoenix +182

This is the most anticipated matchup of Week 1. Royal Never Give Up has been the most popular team in China for years, and they are one of the favorites coming into the 2022 LPL Spring Split. Xiaohu is back in the mid lane after it was clear that Cryin was not up to the challenge, and the addition of Bin gives them a proven top laner. This bottom lane should be one of the best in the LPL too.

Meanwhile, FunPlus Phoenix blew up their roster in the offseason after a dismal 2021 campaign. Stars like Doinb, Nuguri, and Crisp were released, and they are taking a chance on two Korean imports in Gori and Clid. Clid was one of the top junglers in the LCK during his time with SK Telecom T1 and Gen.G, but he only joined FPX on January 5 and probably won’t be ready to play in this series.

EDward Gaming -556

JD Gaming +354

The defending world champions are sizeable favorites against JD Gaming in their first match of 2022. EDward Gaming pulled off a surprising upset of DWG KIA to win Worlds two months ago, and they decided to bring the whole team back in order to defend their crown. Long-time support Meiko is still playing at a high level, and he and Viper teamed up to be the best bottom lane in the world last year. Scout is still playing well too, while Flandre is the X-Factor in the top lane.

For two years, JD Gaming was seen as a burgeoning powerhouse in the LPL. They have revamped their roster this offseason though, and they might take a step back. The addition of 369 in the top lane should help if he can return to his old form, but the key to this team is the play of jungler Kanavi.

Anyone’s Legend -238

LGD Gaming +171

After some scandals over the last couple years, Rogue Warriors needed a rebrand. They are now known as Anyone’s Legend, and they are trying to recapture some of the glory of former LMS giants Flash Wolves by signing Maple to pair with Betty. However, they shouldn’t be this much of a favorite against LGD Gaming in Week 1.

LGD Gaming completely overhauled its roster in the offseason, and they became the first LPL team to sign a Western player. Former MAD Lions jungler Shad0w will be the starting jungler for this team, and that’s not the disadvantage some are painting it to be in the industry.
