2021 LOL World Championship Play-In Stage Day 1 Betting

After more than a month of waiting, the 2021 League of Legends World Championship is finally set to start. Although Vietnam will not be represented due to COVID restrictions, the qualified teams from every other region are now in Iceland and getting ready for the biggest event in Esports. There have been a few hiccups though as some teams have not been able to bring over all their players, and multiple teams have complained of spotty connections in their locations.

2021 League of Legends World Championship Play-In Stage Day 1 Odds

LNG Esports -162

Hanwha Life Esports +122

This is the game that will open the Play-In Stage, and it will probably be the most anticipated game of the stage too. LNG Esports and Hanwha Life Esports are the two favorites to come out of Group A, but we saw MAD Lions and LGD Gaming both disappoint here last year with 1-3 records in the single round robin. Hanwha Life Esports is a nice play as an underdog here, since the Chovy advantage is hard to ignore.

RED Canids -153

Infinity Esports +115

One of the regions that has experienced a resurgence in support and gameplay is Brazil. The viewership for CBLOL is rivalling that of North America now, helping make RED Canids the favorite in this match. Titan is one of the top bottom laners in the region, and new mid laner Grevthar has given the RED Canids a spark.

PEACE +770

LNG Esports -2122

PEACE is one of the biggest underdogs at Worlds. The Oceania representatives have one proven player in Babip, but they have a lot of no-names elsewhere. Additionally, top laner Apii was unable to travel to Iceland because of visa issues, so Lived and former EU top laner Vizicsacsi are going to replace him on short notice.

Infinity Esports +506

Hanwha Life Esports -953

This might be a sneaky spot to take Infinity. Hanwha Life has an exceptional mid laner in Chovy and a legend in veteran AD Carry Deft, but their play in the top lane, jungle, and support has left something to be desired. Infinity has a veteran team with Buggax, SolidSnake, and WhiteLotus all having previous experience on the international stage, so they could pull off a shocker.

Unicorns of Love +106

Detonation FocusMe -141

The Unicorns of Love were one of the best stories at last year’s Play-In Stage. Nomanz raised some eyebrows in the mid lane and Ahahacik played well in the jungle to put UOL into the Group Stage. Detonation FocusMe have some veterans of their own though, as Steal, Ceros, and Yutapon have all had plenty of experience.

Galatasaray Esports +141

Beyond Gaming -190

Turkey has shown it has some very talented players on the international stage over the past few years. Broken Blade first came to prominence as a member of Royal Bandits, and Armut thrived with SuperMassive before joining the MAD Lions. The PCS representatives have not been as sharp, so this is another nice spot for an upset.

Detonation FocusMe +190

Cloud9 -245

Perkz is considered to be the best player in Western history by many observers, and everyone is expecting him to carry Cloud9 into the Group Stage. They shouldn’t have too much trouble with DFM, as C9 should simply outclass them.

Unicorns of Love +111

Galatasaray Esports -147

Here is another place to go with the underdog. Unicorns of Love are more proven than their opponents, so they are the play as over 2-1.
