2021 LEC Championship Round 2 Betting

It’s a new era in the LEC. After years of Fnatic and G2 Esports dominating Europe, Rogue and MAD Lions are the new titans. Rogue and MAD Lions have already locked up their spots in the World Championship, leaving Fnatic, G2 Esports, and Misfits Gaming to fight for the final LEC spot at Worlds. Fnatic and Misfits Gaming will square off in a winner-take-all series on Friday, and the winner will face G2 for the final Worlds spot on Sunday.

2021 LEC Championship Round 2 Betting Odds

Fnatic -130

Misfits Gaming -102

The biggest fanbase in Europe has played no small part in making Fnatic the favorites this week. Fnatic is a slight favorite over Misfits Gaming in this series despite losing both games against Misfits in the Summer Split.

The good news for Fnatic is that top laner Adam should play better this week. He struggled greatly last week with a 1.7 KDA, but he was also dealing with COVID. That led to the series being played remotely instead of on LAN, and he had to be quarantined from his team. As a result, his communication with his team wasn’t as great as it could have been if he was right beside them.

Everyone else played well, although Hylissang was a bit of a coin flip as is his nature. Fnatic’s bottom lane of Upset and Hylissang is the strong point of this team, and we saw that with Upset posting a 13 KDA in last week’s five-game series against Team Vitality.

Misfits Gaming almost pulled off what would have been a massive upset last week. Rogue was expected to smash them, but they took the top team in the LEC to a decisive fifth game. That last game was a back-and-forth affair where Misfits led in the mid game, but Inspired’s incredible Pentakill sealed Misfits’ fate.

That performance certainly gives Misfits reason to believe they can knock off Fnatic. Top laner Hirit will be key, as he was up and down in last week’s series, and Misfits will need a more consistent performance.

Rogue -120

MAD Lions -111

The budding rivalry between these teams has been one of the best storylines in the LEC. Rogue beat MAD Lions for the final Worlds spot last year, but MAD Lions got their revenge by beating Rogue in a five-game series for the LEC Spring Split title and earned a trip to the Mid-Season Invitational with the win.

Rogue has the best jungler in the region in Inspired. He led the team with a 7.6 KDA last week, and he was phenomenal on both Viego and Xin Zhao. Inspired was involved in 77.9% of his team’s kills per Games of Legends, and he dealt over 20% of his team’s damage.

Larssen is the other star player for Rogue. The mid laner showed his versatility by taking a variety of picks in last week’s series against Misfits, and his only poor performance came on Orianna. The mid-jungle synergy between he and Inspired makes this team a small favorite in this series.

Armut and Elyoya played very well for Misfits against G2 last week. Armut led the team with a 5.3 KDA, while Elyoya was just behind him with a 5 KDA. It’s rare to see a top laner lead a team in damage over the course of a series, but that’s exactly what we saw with Armut as he delivered 27.2% of his team’s damage per Games of Legends and shined on his signature Wukong.

Humanoid hasn’t been as strong in the mid lane as we saw in the Spring Split, and the bottom lane has been hit or miss too. That gives Rogue a slight edge to advance to the LEC Championship Finals next week.
